So, there was this little documentary of the infamous OJ trial on tv, incase you don't know what the whole OJ debate is basically O.J Simpson was a famous football player, he was called an American Hero. There were rumors that he was abusive towards his wife and also rumors that his wife was having an affair with a family friend. Well at 12:00 a.m. on June 13, 1994 his ex-wife and the family friend was found dead in pools of bloods in Nicoles "his exwife" home and... you know what i'm sure you guys heard of it but thats just a little reminder. ANYWAY, sometimes me and my friends would talk about it or when i see it on tv i ponder. Do you guys think OJ commited the murder? i mean the documentary even said his defense team were very suprised. Also OJ is now serving 33 years in a unrelated charge.

I think the evidence was pretty overwhelming that he did it. Besides, who why would anyone else kill his wife and the man she was cheating with?

Fun fact: OJ was almost cast as the Terminator in the first film, but James Cameron said he was "too nice" to be believable as a killer cyborg.

Of course he did. Those type of people are prone to murdering others. And by those people, I'm referring to people with motive. You racist.

I believe he probably did it, but the prosecutors did not prove their case beyond all reasonable doubt. And, frankly, Mark Furhman cast legit doubts on the prosecution's case. Had I been on the jury his guilt would not have been proven to my satisfaction and I would have voted to aquit.

I think he did it, but based on what was presented at his trial, not guilty was the correct verdict.

To be fair, he wrote a book about how he would have done it if he did do it.

Still, it's 90% likely that he did.

your right, i did not live in Berwyn heights and go to oakcrest elementary till 5th grade, where a child was run over by a bus and a cherry tree was planted in her honor, and transferred to springhill lake after my mother was told there were too many white kids in tag. after that i went to greenbelt middle a school also located in springhill lake. if you dont find my story believable look up these places.

And why exactly do you find that story believable?

Because over the years I've heard many different stories of schools doing things that are (in my opinion) outrageous.

Example: When my sister was in 10th grade, her class' essay assignment was (paraphrase) to "Explain 3 reasons why George W. Bush is a poor president." (Not asking IF they think he is a bad president......no room for opinion).

Example: One of my friends showed me the notes from his daughters history class. While discussing the early part of the 1960's, the class spent about 1/2 of a class discussing the JFK presidency, and about 2 full classes "discussing the impact of Marilyn Monroe on U.S. society at the time."

There are more, but the general sense I have, and why little surprises me, is that nowadays curriculum and scholarly conduct has somehow taken a back seat to people's personal views. So it doesn't surprise me that a principal of an elementary school would take it upon himself to make a societal statement and, for all intent, make O.J.'s acquittal a relative "holiday." Thats all.

To respond to your first example, some teachers will do dumb things.

To respond to your second example, Marilyn Monroe did have an impact on US society.

I see no evidene that cirriculum and scholarly conduct has taken a backseat to personal views. If that was true, you would hear more about instances in which the teacher is trying to indoctrinate. But you don't. You just hear rare cases.

then nothing can, PG county, also known as "the richest black county in america" had a hell of a lot of racial tention in the 80's and early 90's. i understand that a large portion of adults at that time had lived through some tough times, unlike my generation, and held some bias' based on their lives to that point, unlike today's racist.

Agreed, at times teachers do some things (they are only human).

As for the second, if popular culture is mixed into history lessons, to give context, that's fine. But to literally spend 4 times the amount of class-time discussing a pop-star over the president at the time? That's a little much for me.

There are also plenty of stories about "indoctrination" going on (many about the "green movement"). But back to the question you asked, do I think that it is possible that a principal of an elementary school COULD have done as the other poster had said? Yeah, I think that it's definitely within the realm of possibilities.

With all due respect, I could mention researchable things about my high school that validate the idea I went there, and then say dinosaur ninjas attacked one day and stole the school mascot costume. It doesn't necessarily validate what he's calling into question.

then nothing can

I'd believe the story if it actually was believable.

If the class was constantly discussing Marilyn Monroe more than JFK, I'd agree that the priorities are unbalanced, but if the class happened to talk alot about Marilyn Monore for a single day, I don't see any problem.

Is surreal's story possible? Yes. After all, anything is possible. Is it likely? I don't think so.

The fact that he wanted to sell a book called "If I did it, here's how I would have done it" pretty much proved he did it.

why do people still care?

it's as if its the only murder that has happened.

wake up thousands of people get murdered on a daily basis, a lot of the cases are more intesting as well.
