Do you think propaganda in video games is bad?

 Heres an example: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/uptospeed/games/

Lets say your from another country, would you want to see that?

How about if the other countries copy that, would you want to see those things?

It got critically far, instead of fake ones, real ones.

End of Video Games is near.

No, just like advertisement. Keep that crap out of my games. I don't need to see axe everywhere I go. It ruins the experience for me and makes me hate certain developers.

Propaganda is never good, and games aren't an exception.

This is just sponsorship, which means more money for the game developers. Sponsorship is a good thing as it means these companies won't go bust and stop making the games we love.

Lol, would you rather have more people falling for the propaganda or better games without advertisement, those advertisement can take up alot of space, and those extra space would be enough space for more features in the game.

This is one reason people don't buy video games for kids 12 and under, they get affected easily.

This isn't propganda, It's an advertisement. Its no different than driving on a freeway and having a 10 year old kid seeing an advertisement there. Also those advertisements in game take essentially no room at all, Its just a picture. If it gets to the point where its taking up precious space, the devs need to have their priorities worked out.

If people fall for the "propaganda" then that's their problem really. However this is about a billboard in the game which has Obama's campaign advert on it. He is the president so really it's just portraying realism.

Fallout 3 has Enclave broadcasts, Nuka-Cola ads/factory and Vault-Tec ads. They don't annoy me

If it is from an outside source then keep it out. Like the Obama ads.

i think that example is wrong, i dont think they should put ads telling anyone who to vote for. however i don't mind games putting social issues and stuff into story lines i actually kind of like that. but yes that particular example i dont agree with

Assuming either party is allowed to buy advertising space in games then I see nothing wrong with it.

Well, If it helps fund the game, then I have no problem with it. I don't think commercials will ever affect me that much, unless I sense that the message has a point.

I don't care. Games are games.

As long as the advertising/propabanda does not affect the gameplay itself, I don't care.

Did those ads even appear worldwide?

If not, why should I even care?

Well all the propaganda you get from the mainstream news media is way worse... i.e. Fox

Two assumptions there: You're assuming that the developer could do something with the space, in this case, with the billboard. What feature can they put in instead of the ad? A ring of fire that the player can somehow jump through? :? And you're also assuming that these ads are preventing developers from adding more features. Quite the contrary; it doesn't have much of an effect because it's just a way for them to make more money, not add or reduce the number of features.
Anyway, I like this and sometimes I don't like this. For example, Swat4 had ads in it and it was out of place but I did not care, therefore I did not mind. Then they started tracking my movements in the game to see how effective their marketing was.. that I did mind. But usually it is not a problem.

I don't care, as long as it makes sense. Seeing a "CHANGE!" poster in street driving game isn't weird. They are after all on the streets in the real world.

I don't want to see it in a game like Mass Effect though.

Games are suppose to be fun, not advertisements. They turned games into TV ads is bad.
