Do you think race mixing is good?

until all are the same race? My teacher says its good and its important, he says there wont be any racism if all are mixed with every race one day.

Until everyone is of the same race? C'mon lets face it, that day will never come to past. Diversity among the human race is something I appreciate, you have different cultures/heritages and languages that makes us all the more unique from each other. I certainly don't think it is worth sacrificing all that just to prevent racism, sure it is a social issue that needs to be addressed, but I for one don't think your idea of "Race Mixing" is the best solution the human race should take to resolve racism in our world.

I don't think people should go out of their way to mix races, if you happen to be part of an interracial couple that's great, but I'm not going to dump my white boyfriend and go make babies with Asians and Hispanics and black people just because I don't have a problem with biracial or multi-racial children. Babies should come from two people who love each other, not the desire to make everyone "even".XilePrincess

It's neither good nor bad. As another poster said, people will just find another reason to dislike each other.

One of my favorite quotes is "let's **** until we're all the same color." I don't think it was a srs suggestion, though, just a humorous way to illustrate that race deson't matter.

Question, how do you even advocate for trying to create one race without bringing up a discussion of which traits to filter? Seems to me it would invariably lead to a discussion of eugenics.

I see one positive thing though -- better genes. Mixing people could be good for adaptation so they are less prone to diseases and what not. It'll make human even stronger and more evolved.

People seem to forget that people have been killing each other over differences since man discovered another man. Realistically until we are all the same then we will be different.

Not all excuses are equal in magnitude. Other "differences" would have a far less initial visual impact. (which causes views of certain characteristic to be foreign)

Now back to racism. It will remain. Different nations have different culture. For example you don't have to be hispanic to be Mexican. People will discriminate you otherwise. It's just common there from past history. People won't leave their culture either.

I agree that racism is diminishing with each generation. And, am I not advocating Eugenics in order to solve the issue, However, that doesn't change the fact that without difference in race that there wouldn't be racism. Furthermore, there likely wouldn't be a replacement of said bigotry.

Considering that in the past that it co-existed quite well with racism anyway, I don't see how that is possible. Nationalism to some extent still exists today. It's not like there is some sort of a difference-seeking part of humanity to find differences, It just tends to dislike them when they are found. Fear of the unknown etc.

It's okay. If you're in a interracial relationship, good for you. If you're not, still good for you.

One benefit imo is that mixed persons tend to be quite good-looking.

I'm not entirely sure its breaking down, It is however become less socially exceptable which in itself is a good thing. People are more likely keeping racist thoughts to themselves and not commiting racist acts as often. It realy depends where racism stems from, If it is a social inclination or just human nature to identify differences when intimidated, annoyed or threatened im not sure. If it is just human nature however, can we honestly expect to remove it completely or just make it so unacceptable in society that it is not longer an issue.

But at the same time i harbor selfish feelings and want my kids to actually look somewhat like me. Then again if i wasnt white it probably would be a non issue... since it seems like every race overwrites white.

I just don't see how mixing races would work. There is the sprint race, the relay race, long distance race, marathon race; 800 meters, 1500 meters, mile, 10 mile, 20 mile, ect..., You would not be able to figure out who the winner was if you had a bunch of people all running together in a mixed race like that.
