 I love metal also, but come on man.im listening to manowar - brothers of metal the lyrics are getting to me lol..[QUOTE="G-O-M-J"]seriously how can rock die anyway? metal for example has the most passionate united fanbase out of any music genre, were like brothers, you cant break that bond.Pirate700
Rock isn't dead, its just taking a break/sleep. The only bands keeping it somewhat alive is bands from the 90's (foo fighters, QOTSA,Radiohead) and much older bands that are still together (AC/DC, Rush)
Other than that maistream rock is dead, I just hope a new band comes like what Nirvana did and kill all this mainstream garbage. Then we need a fresh new lineup of good rock bands.
P.S. The only rock band I like that started in the 00's is Interpol :P

I have similar feelings, but man, I hate AC/DC.
For bands this decade, I'll admit to liking The Strokes.
The Dead Weather and The White Stripes are good, too.

Yeah I don't like AC/DC as well, but at least they are trying to put out more rock music. Strokes is also a good bandI have similar feelings, but man, I hate AC/DC.

you make it seem like The Strokes are a guilty pleasure. why?
How much I hate Nirvana....

I have heard every song they released and I found them utterly un-listenable.
(except for the famous "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are" [which is a cover of another song and not theirs entirely])

But I'm talking about the impact they made, a band that changes pop culture. We need a band like that to wipeout this scene just like how Nirvana wiped out 80's glam/hair rock/metal[QUOTE="Teenaged"]How much I hate Nirvana.[QUOTE="ultamite_gamer"]

We need a band like that to wipeout this scene just like how Nirvana wiped out 80's glam/hair rock/metalWell I guess thats not happening anymore because so many people get the chance to form a band of their own and sell records and that somehow has dropped the quality or the originality. Idk...But imo, its just a phase. Nothing dies; it evolves.
no it is not. You just have to look hard and skipcrap like Nickelback,All time low,etc plus you can still enjoy rock music from the past so it will never be dead :)

Oh, I didn't mean to make it seem that way. I can see how you would think that, though.
Its just not its time. Wilfred_Owen
The only good bands I heard in this whole decade. (The Darkness came and went too quickly)
ok, I think I would like to change my vote, don't think it's dead but it's in some sort of comma and well in some way rock will never die thanks to what bands did in the past but rock's present and future doesn't seem good
if it was dead it wouldnt be on the radioweezyfb
true but it's not as much as it should be, if there were some really good bands in the present we might have more rock in the radio than what we have now, even when rock might not be as popular as pop music
