I am against it but it's like personally i can't see teachers carry guns, it's not their roles, leave it to police officers.

So what do you think? should teacher carry guns?

There was an article somewhere that some school in Texas allows teachers to do this.

In my opinion, if the school is in a terrible community, bad crime, gangs, ect. then they should be able to carry guns.

But if your in a peaceful suburb where nothing happens, then no.

They should carry tasers. Non lethal but still has stopping power.

I can't say that I would condone a gun. A taser but not a gun. Whos to say the teacher won't get so annoyed with the student he pulls violence into the situation? I can't say I've seen a teacher get that mad but I have seen substitute teachers get that mad.

I think they should have guns because if their is a school shooting they can prevent it. Like one school shooting that was prevented because a couple teachers walked to their cars and picked up their guns and shot the shooter before the situation would've got worse because that shooter only shot a few people before he died.

Thats why we give them guns!:D

I'd rather each school have at least 3 police officers on site at all times. Cept preschools and such.

absolutly not.

If that were to happen at the school i went to, i can just imagine kids bringing their own guns to the classroom because they don't trust the teacher. "She got a gun, so why can't I have one!"

there would be a mounting of arms on both sides... not good.

No they shouldn't carry guns, what kind of an idea is that. My school has 3 Security Specialists 5 other security guards and 2 or 3 cops on campus at all times and that's all you really need.

Kinda reminds me about one of the stories about my English teacher. About 20 or so years ago, when he was really strict and somewhat crazy (he's more lenient nowadays), he brought a gun to school and at the beginning of class took it out and pointed it at his head. After about 20 seconds he put it down and said, "now please turn all of the feelings and thoughts you just had into a full page journal write, due at the end of class."

As crazy as it sounds, i'm pretty sure it's true, since it's been confirmed he's done other crazy stuff like rip the P.A. system out of the wall when the secretary made an announcement that interrupted his lecture.

No, because it only makes it more likely that a school shootout will occur.

I'm in the same boat as some of you other posters. There are some CRAZY teachers out there, they seem genuinely insane, I don't even know how they got hired in the first place.

No.. Because this just brings the gun into the class room.. ALot of teachers arn't physicaly imposing and it could be pretty easy for a phyiscally imposing student to take the gun from them.

I don't see why Teachers would need guns (or tasers) if they aren't allowed to harm the students. :? The situations where they'd need a gun/taser would be extremely rare too.
