It's weird I'm sure that lots of the home-violence that occurs in places in America comes about because of alcohol. Alcohol probably causes more violence then cigarettes even so why isn't it banned?

Yeah man you're totally right! We should definitely throw people in jail for enjoying a beer or two. That makes total sense. I just don't get how other people don't see that the problem isn't people and their poor decision making skills, but it's in fact the chemical ITSELF that causes such violence. It's a violence chemical. Have you ever SEEN the structure of Ethanol? It looks like it wants to beat you down with a baseball bat. Scary stuff.

...that's what prohibition was for. It didn't work. And no, the principal doesn't agree with me. If you can keep your **** together, not drive and not hit your wife and kids, I've got no problem with you drinking.

Cigarettes cause violence? What?

Also, no. Alcohol shouldn't be made illegal. The amount of violence that alcohol causes is insignificant compared to the amount of people who drink. Also, alcohol can cause sex which I think balances out the violence.

EDIT: Also I understand the irony of defending drinking while having this sig.

It's not not guns that kill people, people do.

I think that also applies in this case.

Do not think that drinking is something that should be punished or outlawed. People should be given the right to drink and trusted to have self control. Other problems should be dealt with accordingly.

Actually drinking in itself was legal during the prohibition period. It was illegal for the production and the transportation of alcohol, which essentially banned it, but it ultimately made it unenforceable since the act of drinking was perfectly fine. People could easily claim that they had the alcohol before the prohibition period or got it as a "gift."

Alcohol is only a problem when irresponsibly used. Since irresponsible alcohol use has such a massively bright spotlight in media's and our attention, I can no longer tell just how common responsible alcohol is.

There are always two sides: Freedom and Order. Absolute order would hardly be democracy, in fact video games should be banned for absolute order; absolute freedom would lead to anarchy, and governments wouldn't exist for absolute freedom.

The simplest reason that alcohol is not banned in a democracy is: enough people enjoy drinking.

Moving the glass from the tabel to your mouth could be considered transporting it.

How often do you go to the bar? Because every time I go it never ends with unprotected intercourse or unwanted intercourse. It ends with visiting with friends over drinks, and then going home to a peaceful evening. You obviously already have your mind made up about the evil nature of alcohol, but please don't try and ruin it for the rest of us who can drink responsibly.

You're making an extreme generalization with that statement. I usually don't nitpick about that, but that's simply not true. Every time I've left a bar, it was with a smile and fun story.

Marijuana might be legal in california after the elections. It's really not as bad as PCP. And it's costing millions to enforce the law.

Violent folks who drink bring the violence.

..buy for me, TC,

I just wanna love you,
but be who I am.
And with all this cash,
you'll forget your man.
Now give it to me.
Gimme that funk, that sweet, that nasty, that gushi stuff.

Tried it once, didn't work (google "American Prohibition").

If people want to drink, smoke, use drugs, etc they will, law or no law. All these laws do is force its use underground.

No, I'm saying that the reason PCP is already illegal is that people commit homicide when they use it. Are you suggesting we make PCP legal? What for?
