Do you think the Jonas Bros. would be better if they had more guitar solos?

I mean..guitar solo > no guitar solo. Kevin plays a short solo on "Fly With Me" but they really don't have much lead guitar work. You think they'd be considered decent if they had more lead guitar?

Agreed. They don't even play their instruments, just like all good "teen pop sensations", it's all playback. All they have to do to make the crowds of pre-teen girls go crazy is stand on stage and look pretty, so it's not like they need to play anything, anyway... ¬_¬'

No. Guitar solos are often boring and unnecessary, but in the right hands it can slightly improve a song.

My favorite band barely has any guitar solos so I don't think a solo automatically makes a song better. The Jonas Brothers would have to improve on many things in order to becomes at least a bad band so no, it wouldn't help them.

I have a rather strong suspicion that it's not a matter of "choose to play", but rather isa matter of "can't competently play anything other than".

They can play some chords on a guitar, whoop-dee-doo, that's something that anyone with a couple months of training can do. Tell them to come back when they can do this.
