do you think the US goverment is good or evil?

some ppl think they had something to do with 9/11 and some people say thats crazy, well... they have been caught lying in the past, i dont really pay attention to news or politics bullshiit but they lied about that paul tillman story where he was killed in friendly fire. If they lie there theyll sure as hell lie about anything, and that osama story sounds fake as hell, I doubt they really gave 2 shiits about sending him off to sea.

Many backdoor politics and secret events, not inviting people who needed to vote, making bills as long and complicated as possible so that very few people know what it's about, producing mass lies to the people to keep them in control, and all kinds of rogue tactics employed. In my country we have 3 times as many spindoctors as politicians. We should be very careful with having goverments in any country, and the people should always maintain the ability to remove them if they go too far.
That is one reason I am against militarization of the police. You have police departments with tanks, shields, military grade pepperspray, automatics and whatnot. If you look at how much they have been militarized the past few years and the common people criminalized, that is a disturbing trend to me because at some point you can all be arrested any time and opposing the goverment becomes impossible.

Well like any Goverment its one voted in by the people (Athlough the George Bush election is very suspect) and overall the people seem to do a poor job of voting in the best people for the job.
I'd also say your attempted role as world police is a horrible idea (Much like the British attempt at it in the 20's-40's).
Your police force is totaly deluded and the powers went to there head with the goverment giving them even more powers.

Freedom of speech in America is being crippled with the likes of internment without trial in Guananamo amoung other things.

Yes, the U.S. government is evil, in the sense that all governments are evil.

Government's are neutral entities that eschew morality for the sake of their own interests. Sometimes this can be good, doing what's best for its citizens, sometimes its bad, doing what makes lives worse for other people in other countries.

But its not the worst government, its at least significantly less corrupt then many others, though there's no such thing as a totally uncorrupt government.

The US gov't is composed of people elected by the voters. Good grief :roll: It's not like The Empire Strikes Back for chrissakes.

i'm always a little curious about some peoples attitudes towards "the government" as if it's some dark, mysterious force that does what it wants to do and nobody has any control over. it's a part of us as a society, it wouldn't exist without us and they are peoples just like us that most of the time worked their way up through lower government levels. their main job is to handle affairs that are not efficient or impossible to handle on an individual level. we vote for them and we can join them if we so choose. what do you possibly have to gain by thinking of it as some kind of enemy?

Whatever they do, they don't think it's evil. It all depends on your opinion whether they're going doing the right thing or not. Don't forget, there's only chaos without government control in some capacity.

Government is just a construct of people. It cannot be good or evil in and of itself.

We don't think the German government is evil, but we do think the Nazi regime was evil.We don't think the Cambodian gov't is evil, but we do think that Pol Pot regime was evil.

The inability to distinguish between an artificial construct and the people that are in it,is one thing that annoys me the most about both conspiracy nuts and many NRA types.

All governments are made up of both good and bad people. They also generally will protect their own interests. So my answer is all Governments are both good and bad. Overall the U.S, does way more good throughout the world than it does bad.
