I watched star trek and they said they use no money in their society and that made poverty go away. I think having no money would help technology go faster and better. I think it would be better for the world.

I think the world would indeed be better if it were like star trek. If you got a problem, put all power to the forward shields and if necessary eject the warp core.

You obviously know nothing about economics. This is an extreme form of communism and would simply not work.

I wish I had magic powers where anything I wanted would pop out of the sky. I also dream of the day where my comments read on OT translate to real monies.

At this current time with human behavior I'm not sure how having no currency would effect us. I'm not optimistic it would improve anything at this point. I however do see that a currency system is a primitive way of dealing with social exchange of goods. And in the long run will limit our ability to develop new technologies and a efficient way of life. When we get to the point where we can have no currency.. then we'll truly be an advanced species.. until then we still exist on a fairly primitive level. And will always be restricted by allowing economics to determine what we are capable of or not capable of.

Of course it would. If it is, piracy is no longer a problem.

Ah, yes, this false assumption again. People would not be lazy for lack of money to motivate them. Many men do great things without any desire for money. I'd list them but they're so many of them it's just that obivous.

Money allows huge populations of people to be exploited by privatized banking. For example.. I go to work, I want to get paid but for me to get paid I have to bring my check to a bank.. the bank will cash my check but only if I pay them a fee, or open an account with the bank. It is not longer a service.. the only way I can obtain what I believe I worked for is by paying somebody to pay me or giving them my business guarenteing them constant cash flow.

It's a joke. All this does is prevent me from investing my time and resources into something more productive because we have all these third party entities exploiting us.

Keep in mind he used Star Trek as an example, where they have the technology to sustain a form of Communism. Basically, they can replicate any resource they need.

I will think the world will be worse, because there might be fights happening, and without money, we may not live in peace.

Nah I'm sure we would use something else as currency like back in the old days. And I think I'd prefer carrying money than chickens...

Certainly in a world with limitless resources/supply, there is no need for money. But we don't live in one of those.

So...open a bank account then. :| Seriously, I've had my bank account since I was fourteen years old. In that time, my bank has never lost any of my money, made it unavailable to me, or taken me in any way because of it. This is a totally paranoid rant.

It isn't a false assumption, it's common sense. Nigh on everything a person does in their life is to benefit themselves; financial, emotional or otherwise. I have to say, I do enjoy the "it's so obvious I don't need to back up my claims" internet people have. The second part of what you said is...well, pointless. I've had the same bank account since I was a nipper and everything I've been paid has gone in in full. In fact, with interest I've actually made money. I've no idea what bank you've been going to, but you need to change it.

idk about there being no money, but i think it would be better if people actually used cash. there's some people that never even touch cash, all they use is their credit/debit card.
