The stars we see are billions of years in the past. In those billions of years we dont see,I think there could be people like us on them. They probably see our universe as different since they can only see in the past. I dont see how people can say were the only intelligent things in the universe when we onlysee billions of years in the past.

Thats like a computer game having a low draw distance, the more far you go out the more stuff that pops out. In that waythe universe issimular to being a computer game.

yes, the probability of us being the only intelligent life in trillions upon trillions of planets is ridiculously low. And IMO would be a huge was of space (pun intended) Plus we don't even know how big the universe is.

If life does exist on other planets, we will most certainly find ones that are more intelligent then us... The reason being is the earth is 4.9 billion years old roughly.. The human spieces has literally only existed a small amount of time over that huge life span.. Out of the countless planets out there, I am certain we will find a spieces that either evolves faster or has is much older then humans.

Yes.

The universe is so incomprehensibly massive that I would be utterly shocked if we discovered Earth is the only planet in existence with intelligent life on it.

I'd say the chances of a planet existing with reasonably intelligent life on it are pretty good. The universe is pretty much the largest thing possible after all.

Most definitely. The universe is far too big for us to be the only planet with intelligent life. The question we should be asking is how common is intelligent life is.

I doubt it, there aren't any on this planet, why would there be on others? :P But seriously, I find it a strong possibility that yes, there could be somewhere...though I doubt we shall ever find it. (At least not for a LONG ass time.)

There is most definetily more intelligent beings out there than us. They would most likely regard us unintelligent. But think about how long the universe has been around. Billions of years. Humans have been around for what? A few hundred thousand? A million? Nothing compared to the universe. Even if intelligent life isn't out there NOW, I believe that at one point, there certainly was intelligent life. Shame we most likely will never know for sure... in our lifetimes.

I totally agree with you. Compared to the time scale of the universe 10 thousands years is nothing, but imagine if there is another race , 10 thousands years older than us... Or even 1 million years older.

I can't even imagine what technologie they could have develop !

The universe is quite large. Just because we have not been visited does not mean there arent super beings out there. By that I assume you meant a civilization more advanced than us. They might not want to bother with us as we are primitive. They also might not have found us yet possibly. So many possibilities.

There has to be. If you are religious you would be ridiculous/close minded to think that god didn't make other creatures on other worlds. If your non-religious then the same odds of there being life on other planets are the same as their being life on another. It would be statistically unreasonable to think we are the only ones.

We've made a model (well, more like Frank Drake made it) that helps us answer this very question called the Drake Equation.

It is 100% possible... just as others have said before the faction that the universe contains millions upon billions of galaxies and trillions of stars and planets. We have mapped what... a few thousand galaxies at most and have already found plausible planets for life. Considering theres billions of other galaxies the possibility of life else where, be it a simple cell or intelligence eyond what we could have imagined is not hard to believe.

I used to wonder about this. Then I realized it's more or less completely irrelevant, and i don't think we should be spending federal money looking for them.
