Do you think there will ever be time a when....

When the majority of the Gamespot community could overthrow OT? Just like governments can be overthrown the forum could be fllooded with 100's of users posting pr9n or obscure images, making racist threads, each user spamming to the MAX,etc With this many user's causing all this choas the mod's won't have a chance. It could be like "300:OT"

It would be the mod's (Spartans) vs, the millions of GS users (Persians) The mods would be clearly outnumbered against us. I'm thinking "SolidRuss" could be the leader of the Spatins and LJ_Basic0334 could be king Xerses. Of course of gamespotters would win in our defiance to the mod's by overthrowing the forums and disobeying the ToS.

Do you think this could ever happen or do I just have a wild imagination:P

I don't know if you were here back during the old Lithium days (a few years ago). Anyway, I don't know if anyone remembers the whole "Exodus" debacle. Where after the new boards went into effect, a bunch of the "vets" complained about how the noobs suck, and then made their own user created forum (Exodus, as in "us vets are making an Exodus from the OT forum, which sucks now because of all the noobs").

Anyway, I liked Exodus. It was a smaller invite-only forum. A lot more of a friendlier atmosphere, generally less spam and trolling, and a hell of a lot less fighting. Was a cool place to hang out for a little while.

Then a bunch of the Exodus board members thought it would be funny to come to Off-Topic and talk about posting porn. None of them actually did it, but the mighty Banhammer fell on lots of people that day, just for entertaining the notion.

My point being, there are some things that we don't talk about here. Not even as an obvious joke, not even as a "what if" scenario. Posting porn is one of those things that we just don't talk about here. Gamespot has actually had its share of "Chaos Days", in which many people have collectively decided to **** up the forums. I believe that on a few occasions, Gamespot has actually had to shut down the forums entirely until they got everything under control.

So needless to say, Gamespot takes discussions about another "Chaos Day" VERY seriously. That's one of those things that we just do not talk about.
