Besides the fake trailers it was a pretty bad film. Robert Downey JR was the only good thing about the film and that became tiresome after 15 minutes. Samwel_XI thought the fake trailers were the best part in the entire film.
It's not Robert Downey Jr.'s role that took Tropic Thunder, it's the whole satire of the Hollywood industry that really made me laugh. And satire isn't meant to be funny for everyone, so yes, the humour is hit-or-miss.hiphops_saviorI agree, the satire was what made it great.
It was very overrated. The only funny parts were Robert Downey Jr.'s character, and Steve Coogan. Tom Cruise and his stupid dance were overrated, Jack Black was useless, and Ben Stiller isnt funny.Film-Guy
Agreed. Every time they seemed to have a joke coming on, they would just substitute a swear word and think it was funny. Especially Tom Cruise's character, who was possibly the most unfunny person I've seen in a movie ever. Also, how could a movie make Jack Black unfunny? There was not one point in the movie where i could laugh at anything. Horrible, horrible movie.

For the last time, satire isn't meant to be funny to begin with. Tom Cruise isn't trying to be a funny character, he's acting as a label exec who wears a fat suit and incredibly evil. Please Log In to post.
