I've been in martial arts for many years, I've been in MMA style classes for the last four years, and I highly doubt it. I mean guys like Forrest Griffin, Anderson Sylva, damn these guys among others are GODS!creo-et-ignem

I got to blue belt in traditional TaeKwonDo, taken part in 3 competitions, one of them full contact, but no I don't think so, nor will I want to. I quit TaeKwonDo because I couldn't stand sweaty guys near me, seriously. I got great flexibility but I get out of breath fast! I got scaring of the lungs and I feel my ribs creek slightly when I take a deep breath, not sure what that is.

HAHAHAHAHA Shogun just beat Chuck. Cro Cop is older now and has had injuries, but is still an MMA God along with Chuck. Both are legends.[QUOTE="Snakewiseman"][QUOTE="jfcundiff"] And Fedor, Cro Cop, Couture, Wanderlei, Liddell, Shogun, etc. jfcundiff

I think alot of people could better represent team united states in the ultimate fighter they are a bunch or scrubs
i fought a lot in the local mma training gym in my area of toronto (xtreme couture if anyone knows where that is), until i got hurt real bad with my leg. my knee popped out and now im basically done. i have trouble walking let alone fighting, so i think im done for a long time. when randy came to xtreme couture in toronto, i met with him and he saw me spar a little. he said i am above average but need A LOT of improvement (basically no chance in ufc unless my time is devoted to that). so i doubt i could fight in ufc
ps. randy is a pretty nice guy
It's interesting how people that study a martial art or two don't think they would do well in UFC, including myself.
Probably because the more I learn the more I realize how much damage can actually be done when executed well.
i study judo and jujitsu, and I think those guys in UFC are monsters in a compimentary way. Plus, i don't think it's worth a broken nose or bones or whatever.
I think you need to have a special makeup to fight successfully in UFC.
But if anyone here can, they should do it. Or search out something similar near them and relay their experiences
Absolutely not. Despite my size (6'6" 285lbs), I am out of shape and would be destroyed in a matter of seconds.
I don't usually speak for others, but I doubt there is a single person frequenting these forums (including myself, of course) who would last more than 1 minute in the ring (in most cases, probably 30 seconds).
I train BJJ and Muay Thai and I know that I would get my ass kicked by.. you know... the people who fight for a living...

it problably means you needed to condition more.
but idk if i could. i did train muay thai for 3 years had lots of experience on the ring too but dont know much of ground & pound, so i would problably get owned on the floor :P
I would be a pretty avarage fighter...so no, I wouldn't do very well. And I would be in Anderson Silva's wieght class (185). **** that. :P
The cage can be used as somewhat of an advantage for them instead of a ring. The cage makes it so a wrestler, who is great at controlling someone, can push them against it and unleash on them. Plus the judges score based on things like takedowns so wrestlers have quite an advantage. Wrestling or BJJ are the best 2 bases to start with for MMA.I never understood how wrestlers do good in the ufc the take their shot and boom knee to the face

No I'm not strong. I'm a skeleton. I would definitely break there. In school I got bullied and harassed by the stronger peers.
But I know several people who could winin such a contest: Sylvester Stalone, Michael Jai White, David Vadim(David Vadim played the corrupt cop in the movie Exit Woundsalong with Michael Jai White), David Batista, Magnus Samuelsson(he is a Strongman btw) and Bill Goldberg. Such people definitely have a high chance of winning there.
