Of course not, but I will choose the government any day over the private sector.. Which isn't saying much seeing as the corporations control numerous facets of the governmnet to begin with.

Do I trust a centre-right government that seems to have a bad habit of installing monitoring equipment everywhere? (New Labour, UK)

No.

organic_machine

could not have said it better myself.

I wouldnt say I believe this to the point of hating my government, but I question most of what it does and have a constantly skeptical attitude to it. I think it is our duty as citizens to do so.

It's hard to trust a government that tells more lies and makes more mistakes than belief can accept. To trust the government is to be naive and living in a fairy tale world where everyone runs hand in hand through rainbows and tulips with butterflies flying all around and nothing bad ever happens.

It never matters what form of government it is nor what they say to get the vote, they're all the same in the end, they're all greedy, power hungry fools who think themselves better than those they're supposed to be working for.

I dont trust anyone or anything that has been arbitrarily given the arbitrary ability to coerce other people.

In other words, I dont trust ANY governments.

I guess i only believe in some government because most people out there dont exactly share my anti-statist vision, and a lot of people abroad would want to compel me to follow their statist agenda.

I was mostly quoting the way it is here in the UK, so many of us voted and we got let down with yet another government that's about as useful as a chocolate teapot in a volcano. By the sounds of things the US government is the same way for the American people.

All that money they waste on the election nonsense and we're still to get governments that actually work for the people. It's no wonder people lose faith with those in power when those in power never learn from the mistakes of the past.

We'll always have that problem in a two party system where it's now become center-right, Conservatives are conservative and Labour are now conservative.

I don't trust my government.

On one hand I like Harper because of his views on gun laws, on the other hand I am a socialist... If the Liberals are in power I am afraid that they will make acquiring firearms even harder and if the Conservatives are in power I fear that they will cut on the public services like health care.

Lol every government has got lies. But some of them are unimportant. I trust the austraslian governmnent cause, after all australia is a weak, neutralpacific country far away from everything... Anyway with the frankly huge amount of media attention and shows such as The chasers War on everything, Rove and GNW. I mean in australia most the members are known well to the media people, since they always partake in interviews. For the australian governmnent to have a huge secret and somehow manage to keep it secret from the public is nearly impossible. so wether they want it or not We always know what theyr doing. which mostly is competing with each over... I mean seriously in which country does the leader say; the capital is too boring so i will move to a sydney which is 3h away and have 3h commutes to work evryday!

Never believe a government unquestionally, but a certain amount of loyalty from the citizens is required to maintain order.

When order is lost, truly oppressive governments have the opportunity to rise up and take control.
