Do you trust your pets to wander around without supervision? I have a house cat that loves going outside every once in awhile. He knows our 'territory', but I still do not want him wandering around. We tested it on him twice (once on purpose and once by accident  ) and both times he stayed within the area we usually let him roam. The thing is, my cat is way to nice and I'm scared of someone stealing him. :P

Inside, yes, he usually just sits around and naps. I always find him snuggled up on my bed when I get home from anywhere. Outside, I worry for his safety, but usually he's pretty good and stays in the backyard away from the street. I've never worried about somebody stealing him, though...

in america...no theres all those leash laws, even at beaches. but otherwise we let him go free. he is too lazy and love sandwiches and AC far too much to wander far (hes a saluki/german shepard mix btw)

oh and in the house hes family. so he kinda goes where he wants, just as we do.

Yah. My cat is pretty good. In fact, she usually comes back inside with a dead mouse and brings it to me like it's a gift. Happens almost every day too.

I trust my cat to wander around outside and inside. I wouldn't let my dog leave my property unsupervised though.

cat has been around long enough i don't have to worry about her getting into trouble.

at least not too much trouble.

There was that one time when she was little and her keychain somehow touched a high voltage wire behind the washing machine. the entire house went dark and next thing i heard was cat running around like crazy. everything was cool. key chain half melted, no harm on her. but she sure as hell didn't go back there again. Thank God it wasn't worse and she died.

literally living up to the phrase "curiousity killed the cat"

Hell no. I'd never let the cat outside my house by his own, humanity is way too ****** up.

I plan on getting a husky. And by all accounts from the reading I've done the answer to that question is no. Leaving her alone will result in disaster.

I just got back from the kitchen and I detected an odd odor and then realized it was skunk odor. I think someone's cat got sprayed or perhaps the skunk got through a neighbor's fence and they let out their dog and it got sprayed. Or maybe someone is walking around outside my house.

No. We got our cat from the humane society, where he wound up because he wandered off from his previous owners. He got outside once, an luckily enough stayed in the yard until we noticed him out there. Not taking that chance again.

There used to be several cats in the neighborhood that roamed around all over the place. Now there's only one. I think most of them just wander off and never come back, get hit by cars, are killed by predators, or get some disease and die. Our little Mr. Fluffy seems pretty content right where he is :D

I just paid £75 to get my dog relesed from the pound after it jumped over my back fence. No I don't trust them.

I have two cats that can roam around freely. One of them only ever returns home during the winter.

Inside the house, sure. Outside, no. My dog has epilipsy and she has always been very bad with people she is not familiar with, and we live near an elementary school and a lot of people let their cats run loose around here as well, so it's just not a good idea to let her run around outside. Not to mention there are leash laws.
