gps device..thats sad ..thats how lazy we americans are now we cant even look at a map...its terribleKWpimpinMaybe we are like saving the enviroment by not like using paper?
I use my all the time and love it. I got it for work since I travel a lot. My dad and sister also got one and think they are great. No more printing out google maps and y ou never get lost again
... except when you drive in the boonies where the gps maps are also correct.
Roads are littered with signs that tell you which direction you are going and how many miles you need to go to get there. But I guess if you want to pin point a building the GPS is agood gadget to have.
Just tell me what direction it's in and how many miles Imust go. I do it the old the fashion way. Time of day, directon of wind the position of the sun and magnetic pull.
Yeah a GPS makes it much easier and foolproof, but afrugal people such as myself would neverspend the money onsuch a luxury.
It's great and an absoulute must if you travel constantly, but how many people actually live such a glamorous lifestyle?
GPS also allows you to look up various points of interest around the area you are at. Need gas? Simply hit a button and various choices and locations pop up. Feel hungry? Select from dozens of different types to choose from and restaurants will show up everywhere for that particular type. Hotels, amusement, hospitals, pretty much anything you need is at your fingertips.
A few hundred bucks on upwards is a small price to pay for that type of convenience and accessibility. I'll agree it's a waste if you live out in the boonies or don't drive for a living, etc.

I know, that's what I meant when I said "pin point buildings." But if you don't travel you know where everything is so you don't need a device to find it.
That's what I mean. If you commute everyday to places you have never gone before then a GPS is handy. Manypeople don't do that so it's useless for many. It's a special purpose device. Like a wheelchair ramp.
