I was talking to my sister again about our family.

I have a very cold father. He doesn't ever talk, and it seems like we are more of an inconvenience to him. My mom is depressed and blames her for the problem, and resorts to drinking and smoking a lot. My dad hates the drinking/smoking so it only makes things worse.

So my sister thinks my dad is an ahole, and my mom regrets everything about him and blames herself for all the problems. There is no violence, just quietness.

Do you have a happy family?

We're alright. We talk to each other and we enjoy ourselves.

It's more peaceful than happy, really.

We have our flaws and things we don't like about each other. I could go into detail, but at the end of the day when one of us is in need, we are willing to helpth. We might not be as successful as my aunt/uncle families, but we make it through the day supporting each other.

Things started getting bad two years ago when I devolped a seizure disorder from concussions from football. Now everybody yells. My mom blames my dad because my dad was a diehard football fantiac. My dad doesn't really understand the seizure disorder and just thinks I'm not tough.

Despite my parents being divorced, my family is awesome. My Dad's side of the family is pretty dysfunctional (and not in a bad way), while my Mom's side is slightly more, for lack of a better term, sane.

My family is miserable. They're all about work to pay off the bills while I have to take care of the house

I'm really grateful for my family. Sure we get in disagreements every once in a while, but my parents always look out for me no matter what I get myself into. Not to mention they are paying for most of my college.

Damn Helium, sorry to hear that. Yes I do, my parents were wonderful. I could not have asked anything more from them, and my wife and I try to raise our kids the same way with constant communication and to let them know how important they are and how much we love them.

Never met my dad. He wasn't man enough to come to reality and realize that he is responsible for creating a child. So he abandoned and last I heard he is a fugitive hiding in Mexico..... going down South to Peru or something. Mom was good, had four boyfriends at once that almost got her *** killed. One brother died in 1991 by a drive by shooting that was targeting someone else, the other brother is in Iraq right now but is coming home by Valentines day. And I got a sister who is mentally retarded. But besides my ********** "father" I love my family.

I've been stationed in Arizona for the past six months. I'm finally able to come home and see my family over the holidays and I cherish it. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have them.

It must absolutely suck to have a dysfuntional family.
