There we go, that's what I use.
I always buy the CD,and if I want a mix or use a transportable device I use a hard drive. I like the ease of digital media, but I want the hard copy, hard drives can crash or become corrupted, then your done.mattykovaxThis is the truth, plus it's easier to show off your collection :P
All the time. Im just the type of person who needs the packaging for whatever cd/movie/game that I buy. Although if its just 1 or 2 songs that I like, Ill ask my friends if they have it and if so, ask them to send it to me.
Edit- Also, I listen to music all the time in the car and that stereo doesnt play copied cds. I dont have a thing to play my Ipod unfortunately x( I dont know where to find one.
i buy albums on itunes when i can, but they dont have everything. i often have to order the CD on ebay.
i avoid the virus infested limewire. the selection isnt that good anyway.
If I actually care about the artist or an album I will buy the damn thing. I can listen to the best sound quality (it ain't vinyl but c'mon) and I can rip it to my computer as well. It's satisfying to have a little collection of music.

A lot of artists actually get nothing for their CDs and make money through merchandising and ticket sells.

Yes but that doesn't mean they don't care about the album. If I were a musician I wouldn't weep if people were downloading my songs off the net but I'd be happy with people actually being able to open up that jewel case with the booklet and official artwork. It's not the money issue at all that makes me buy albums. I'm well aware that the artists don't get much from the sales.

But if the label isnt making anything from the record sales, then they'd probably drop the band from their label. If people buy the albums then it lets the record label know that they have alot of fans and they'd keep the band on the label. Thats what I think anyways, probably wrong :PI received one from Amazon yesterday, and two more today.
I'll be receiving a few more later in the month as well.

i dont buy cd's anymore. i use umm.. i cant say it on GS. ive already been modded once for saying it so not gonna say it again.
CDs and records.
I actually have a couple albums on reel to reel tape.

Of course I buy CD's. The only other options are to deal with DRM or do it illegally.Rocky32189No they aren't O_o you can get DRM free music on Amazon...
How poeple can choose downloads over purchasing cds is beyond my understanding. A cd, like a vinyl, is a piece of artwork. (NOT INCLDING ALL THAT MODERN MAINSTREAM RUBBISH). I mean a real album, with real artwork and booklet. Always buy the proper albums.

Now now. That's not the point
Who still uses the cesspool that is limewire? I like to have hard copies of my music. I want to pass on my music collection to my kids. Brutal_ElitegsLimewire does suck indeed. Lots of viruses, wrong songs and it's hard to find whole albums in good quality rips.

Jesus. That is just sad. You are obviously just cheap. cds are collectable. You know nothing about the beauty of an album. Modern.

How about - GO OUT AN BUY IT. Instead of ripping off the artists you like, how about supporting them? Just an idea.

Care to explain?I don't think we buy the albums because we want that artwork so bad. It's about having a physical copy. A little collection perhaps. That copy can then be ripped to the computer too but at least you have actual copy rather than just computer code with the name of the song and album.
