So, do you guys care if an album came out say August 2008? Would you still buy it and put on your ipod and listen to it or not? I know this is kinda random, its jsut because alot of my freinds do care. If i said to them 'hey do you like (insert a song here realsed in say 2008 and they will reply 'No, its old.' Now IMO that is r****, so does anyone care if its old or not? thanks.

7 out of my 10 favorite bands were formed between the 60s and 80s so I don't care at all. And if someone doesn't like a song or an artist because it is old, well let's just say they are being ignorant.

My favourite band hasn't released a new song/album since '94, and I listen to mostly 60's - 80's music.

So no; I almost prefer older music.

90% of the music I listen to are atleast 10-30 years old. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. New music is pure and utter crap, infact, you should make fun of them for listening to new music.

This is an example of what i mean: I was speaking to a friends about Kings of Leon's album 'Only by the Night' becuase I was curios if they liked it or not and the replied 'That came out in September 2008 its so old.' That is so stupid.

Agreed. Age is an invalid reason for disliking an art form.

I generally don't buy anything that came out past 1989. Since when has one year old been old? :|

The only time I don't like a song because it's old is when I've listened to it too much.

Old? I almost exclusively listen to music that is twice, sometimes three times the age I am.

Older songs are way better then new songs. Some people only want to listen to new music, play new games and only do things that are new.
I prefer old music though, I can't stand most new songs.

2008 is still new for me. Almost all the music I'm currently purchasing is catching up on what I missed in 2008. I think that I've bought three albums that came out this year, out of maybe 70 purchases this year.

No way, old songs are the best! There are some modern songs that are nice but nothing can beat the songs back then. It's a shame my classmates don't feel the same, they mock me and call my iPod "old" :(

If the music is good, it's good. I don't care if it's old, and I don't really see why people wouldn't listen to music that just came out a year ago.

It depends. Sometimes I feel behind I guess if the song isn't a true classic but then I remember I only know 2 people who listen to the same stuff I do so my ego quickly fades.

I listen to music fromthe 1700's and don't understand the logic behing the way your friends think. How does year have any correlation with the music itself.

No I don't care what the age is of a song. Just like movies, if I haven't seen it yet then it's new to me.

I like classic rock. I won't dislike something because it's old, but I will if it's new. New music = suck, with a few exceptions.

I don't care when a song was published, that has nothing whatsoever to do with my enjoyment of a song.

I happen to like rock music of the 70's and 80's most, but their age doesn't matter at all: it's the music.

i still listen to all the albums that green day put out in the 90's and there new one. even american idiot and thats only like 5 years old. also i listen to heaps of metallica and iron maiden and guns n' roses aswell. if people dont like a song just coz its more than a month old then they must lead very sad lives. even sadder then ours, the OTers :D:D
