When I hear on T.V.s something like "Jack Nicholson is working on a movie about... (blah blah blah)" I generally think "huh. That's interesting" because I might actually go see that movie. Yet it seems America cares more about stuff like "Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (Brangelina) bought a house in New Orleans OMGZ!!!!!". Honestly though, I don't care at all who marries who and stuff. I think that the fact that news as unimportant as that makes the National News is somewhat of an embarrassment. Also, I can't believe that photographers get paid thousands of dollars for taking pictures of Celebrities babies. And it made the national news when pics of Tom Cruises baby, "Suri" came out. I just get annoyed that we have to get so involved with celebrities personal lives. I'm sure the celebrities hate it too. Being a Papparazzi is such a corrupt job, I can't believe how relentless they are to capture a photo. This "obsession" I'm talking about had corupted so many people. Does anybody here care when Paris Hilton and Nichol Richie have a fight, when Jennifer Aniston is seen at the mall with some other dude, or when two celebrites decide to start dating? I don't...
It's also bad in Canada. I find that it's usually women that care about these things. Can't say if that's true or not, just a qualitative observation I've made over time.
i don't really find it annoying...i do however find it annoying when my gilfriend tells me about celebs and wat thier doing when we just saw it on t.v...."OMG did you hear that???" yes THAT is annoying....

True. Musicians are different. They (most) actually have talent. Celebs like Angelina Jolie and Paris Hilton don't sdeserve to be obsessed about. I dont mind celebrites as in actors/sportsmen/people will some form of talent. Paris Hilton can just get lost. Whenever she's on the news i cant help but wonder "why are you telling me about this stupid woman? Why not publicise the life of every wealthy female in America?"

She is a good actress, but I don't think she deserves America's obsession. Nobody's personal life deserves someone's obsession unless it actually affects them personally.
