Ask the mods is probably my favorite board on this site, some of the threads people make there are hilarious. The extremely angry posts there are hysterical sometimes. Does anyone else lurk there or just me?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
That board was made for the lulz. Some people asking why they got modded for something so obvious is hilarious. I mean, why so serious? It's just an internet forum. :PMistressMinako
I was once one of them people. On a couple of occasions, I actually had my moderations overturned. :P
That's like peaking into the principal's office when a student has a complaint. Why the hell would I do that?
:(
No, I've browsed the ask the mods section and some of it is funny, but it just leaves theimpression the mods are modding people to antagonize. Then they laugh at the pissed off poststhey instigated. It's all for their own amusement.
Some of the posts are funny but the attitudes of most of mods kill it. They always have a "Whatever, I did it simply because I wasbored, soHAHA!" attitude. Every time someone complains the replies given by the mods are done solely to aggravate the person complaining.
One time a mod replied "Well maybe if you were a little more polite." or something like that. What the fruits & nutsdoes that have to do with anything? How polite or rude one is to another is irrelevant. They are just antagonizing. Or in Internetlingo flaming. They piss users off, so naturally the topic creator is going to be rude, he or she is angry because they have been subjected to mal-moderation, mal-practice or whatever you could call it without verbally assaulting someone else. Though verbal assault allows you to get your anger out thenjust walk away and forget about. BUT they don't even want to allow that.
So yeah, it's funny, at first, but with every complaint comes the mod's reply which is aconstant reminder, so for me viewing ask the mods is infuriating, not entertaining. Just reminds me that their answer to everything is "nah nah nuhnah nah!" Not literally, subtle, subtle enough to apparently warrant a completely unnecessary response, a smart ass response.
The fact the an "Ask the mods" section exists it funny period. complaining about something they have done is like going to a tribunal with no defense and no jury. When they are right they are right and when they are wrong they are right. They are right no matter what. So what's the point? Ask the mods what? Where to find the terms of use? It's an awful elaborate setup just for that.
Sometimes, but not so much. It's rather hard for me to get interested in a thread knowing I can't reply.
And seeing people think that those users are ACTUALLY SERIOUS ABOUT A SCORE. Is even MORE funnier. :)IceBlazerX

I was never serious to begin with, and everyone here thinking it was their business and getting offeneded by it, and THINKING I WAS SERIOUS was insanely funny. Time of my OT. :)IceBlazerX
I read it from time to time. Mostly it's new users whining about the rules, but sometimes you come across a real gem, like this one...

...where the mods (an admin, actually) insist that if you want to post your opinion, you have to explain it, back it up. So how many posts should be modded under this interpretation?

I don't buy that for one second.
Your threads were quite serious Tiger...just as the one asking spazz why we did not get in trouble for bringing it up was (it is not against the TOU to bring up threads posted in a public forum btw)

I don't think anyone here will believe that either. But I could be wrong. Maybe someone will say that they do.
I do find it 'odd' that the amount of threads you make in AtM has decreased sharply since it was brought up though

Usually I agree with what happens in AtM.
But I wonder if people must also justify their opinion if they say 'it looks awesome'?
...if that is not the case, then it is an awful double standard
-if it is the case, then all seems fair/justified

Ibelieve both are moddable for not furthering discussion, but only the one that annoys people is reported.

Where is "furthering discussion" in the ToU? That Ask the Mods discussion I posted proceeds as if there's some sort of editorial standard in GameSpot forums. If there is, someone should write it down.
Nah, it's much easier just to say, "The rules are the rules whether you like them or not. *locked*"

Baseless Criticism: System Wars exists for the purpose of debate. However, simple posts such as, "This game sucks", "That's a stupid opinion", and "Garbage console" are considered trolling and will be dealt with as such. If you are going to criticize, make sure to elaborate why. Please Log In to post.
