I'm dating myself here a bit, but I remember when dvd players pushed vcr's out the door. Even if you have one, is there ANYTHING new that's even available in VHS format???

I do, I threw one out, gave another away, and then realised I needed one to copy some VHS home movies DOH!
I too back the VCR/DVD combo player I bought my mother in law (the DVD bit stopped working) and bought her a DVD/digital set top box.
still haven't gotten around to copying those tapes though.

I have a 15" TV in my bedroom that has a built-in VHS player.
It's becoming more & more difficult to find tapes these days.

The VCR plays VHS tapes like these...
Not to long ago these were standard for home video movie releases instead of DVD movies.

ah, i did love my vhs. but no, i have switched over to digital media and havent looked back. i remember when "the crow" came out on tape and you could only rent it (unless you wanted to order a rental copy for like $150) then finding a used copy a year later for $20. it was awesome, i watched that movie a million times.

Yes, I have a VCR, however, I NEVER use it. The quality is CRAP, and I cannot believe I ever used the thing. The only reason I did use thing in recent years is for means of recording, and even in that context, become useless, ever since I was introduced to the glory of DVR few months back.
