[QUOTE="DMRaMeX"]if I close my ears or go to a quiet room, i hear a eeeeee ringing. its not horrible, but it does get annoying at some bits. is this normal?dipper145i hear it too so i'd have to say yes it is normal. it has to do with constant backround noise
I hear it, too. If I focus my attention on it and I hear something else, that other sound seems to be amzingly loud, so I usually ignore it.
[QUOTE="krazykillaz"]Sounds like you have Tinnitus.DMRaMeX
is tinnitus normal? do many people have it?
Tinnitus just means ringing, and it can be caused by what I explained. Other explanation I could imagine would be an infection.
Some monitors, TVs, and fans can give off a high-pitched screech...get away from those things and see if your ears still ring.
My dad has a monitor that drives me NUTS but nobody else can hear it that I've met. It screechs like crazy and it gets worse when it's not displaying anything (power save mode).
I hear something too, but it sounds kinda like a wind. Is that the same for you guys? I hear the ringing noise once in a while.hydralisk86It's a mix between wind sometimes.

I do. I m also lucky enough to have another component added on to my tinnitus, a high senstivity to loudness. I wear earplugs in the car, cannot attend at rock concert, I cannot be within 300 feet of a lawn mower, I cannot ever again wear a pair of headphones. People shouting heart, sound of cars passing hurts, sirens, even far away.
Luckly, its only in my left ear. Lucky me. Even better, the sound does not bother me in silence. I can simply tune it out. Half of the time I don't even hear it. (more like 80%) but its always there if I try to focus on it again.
You might want to get your hearing checked out.staindcoldlpI agree, I sure would if that happened to me, could be a sign of something alot more serious
I don't know, this just used to happen sometimes in a random situation. You guys know what a flashbang is right? Have you been flashed ingame such as Rainbow Six or Counter Strike? You get the '''Biiiip'' Screeching noisy sound while being flashed... Well i don't know if that is normal cause it used to happen to me sometimes, i don't know how and when.. it just appears like out of nowhere.
Any idea?
Sorry for my english spelling (2nd Language)

Welis
I always get that too...completely at random...in one ear for about 10 seconds.

Its just like when a flashbang gets thrown near you. A loud noise bursts and then you have this ringing sound because the hairs in your ears that take in the sound break or something. FlashBangs are Painful even tho nothing physically happens to you

Yes I know exaclty what you guys are talking about. It sounds like some squeeky electic current sound that fades away like 10 seconds later. In fact they replicate that sound in your ear when a grenade goes off right near you in Call of Duty games. camreeno360
Yup
