Pretty much everyone I know loves driving cars, and has loved that since they were kids, taking the car without parents' permission, etc. As for me, I just like relaxing in the passenger seat while the driver nexts to me takes care on the road.

In America I hear some can drive as early as 16. Is driving really important to anyone?

I'm 13, so I have never driven before. But some day I'd like to, just to have the feel of being behind the wheel.

I enjoy driving but I do have my times where I rather just go along for the ride.

It's not that dislike driving, but given a choice between driving and being a passenger I'd rather not have to pay attention to the road.

I dread driving. I don't hate it but whenever I have to drive to work I always think about how boring it's going to be when I drive all the way over there.

I hate cars because of traffic and how most areas around me arent set up in logical manners. it left a bad taste in my mouth. I have so many unmarked streets and random one ways that id just rather get on a subway. At least then I could just listen to music with my eyes shut the entire time

This.

My wife is learning to drive at the moment, and I am much happier behind the wheel. But I do try and let her drive as often as I can, so that she can get her licence ASAP.

Of course! It is so much nicer not to have to rely on someone else to bring you somewhere. You don't have to hope that your parents are in the mood to drive you to your friends or the mall or wherever. Being able to drive allows you to go where you want when you want. What if your hungry at 2am and want to go get some food? I'm sure your parents or whoever are not gonna pop out of bed abd take you their. IF you cand rive you can go get it yourself (This is just an example of how driving can be an advantage even though most people, including myself, would not do this :)).

If everything is blurring at 70-80 mph, you need to get your eyes checked... that's not fast at all.

:P I had to do my collision prevention course during winter, which was actually decent fun. Having to do a pylon test on glare ice..is pretty awesome :P Although driving normally on snow and ice, I don't enjoy much. I know how to drive my car in it, but too many others don't, so I prefer not to be on the road at times like that. Too many drive as if it's still summer.

My eyes are fine. When I'm driving on a highway for 2-3 hours at that speed my eyes seem to focus only on the road and everything else seems so far away. Or maybe it was the opposite. Everything around my view point is close but the road is very far.

Lol no, i'm not brave enough to goes 120 km/h at the country i was born in, that's asking for accident even driving between city except highway. We have a lot of mountain range, poor road maintenance, goes 120 km/h with sudden hole on the road is bad. For city, we only have traffic light and standard road strip to divide lanes. The country i live in now has a lot of road marking variation and very strict rule but most of local drivers are more reckless than my home country.

I believe you've heard it somewhere, it's called Shared Space concept. No road marking, traffic light and sign means no false sense of security, confidance that you're right and speed all the way. This concept forcing you and everyone around to consider each others.

Yes, I detest driving.

Streets are manageable... But...

Freeways terrify me. (So many idiots on the road who are out to kill you... It can seem that way on occasion) :(

What makes matters worse is that my eyes aren't quite tuned for driving (My depth perception is a slight obstacle... It's not a crippling problem though)

So lets just say I'm in no rush to get my license any time soon...

I really really hate to drive. I avoid driving whenever possible. It makes me nervous and I just don't enjoy it. I think the fact that I got into a car accident the first time I drove has something to do with this... I've never really gotten over it.

I love driving. It's one of the few things I genuinely enjoy on a daily basis. It's the reason why I would prefer to avoid living in a major city, as driving becomes less fun.

I don't like it but I have to do it. I don't have too much trouble, I just get a little worried about getting lost. Overall there isn't anywhere int he UK I couldn't find my way home from in an emergancy, but i'll rather things don't become an emergancy.

How old are you? If your under 12 then there is a good chance you'll never get to drive, as the carriers containing the fuel will be docked outside your country waitng for the next fuel crises, in which case the fuel will be rationed to the military, emergancy services and MP's while your expected to walk 5 miles to work starting 8 in the morning where you can get home just in time to start work for the next day.

I waited to take my licence until last year because It didn't really interest me, Now I'm rather happy I did take it as I don't have to rely on others, walk for a long distance or use public transportation to get around to places that's a long distance from where I live.
