I have yet to meet another living soul that has ever even heard of this masterpiece of British sci-fi. I feel so alone. How can it be such a phenomenon in the UK but not a single person overseas has ever heard of it?

I love Doctor Who. I have seasons 2-4 with David Tennant,9 Doctor Who books, 2 DW soundtracks, season 1 of Torchwood, and 1 TW books.
Yes I do as I grew up watching Dr. Who in the '70s & '80s. I was very much into the new series with Eccleston and Tennant but they haven't been running the series lately and so now I can only catch it on the occasional late night/early morning broadcasts on BBC America.

I don't get BBC America, so I'd only heard about it up until this year (come to find out one of my ex-GS friends that I still keep in touch with really likes it though). Now I've seen all 4 series and the specials ever since the 2005 return, and thanks to instant streaming with Netflix on my 360 I've been able to see some of the previous Doctors, even one with the First. I haven't been able to watch any of Torchwood or Sarah Jane yet, however. I wish the next three Who specials weren't taking so long to come out though...MAILER_DAEMON
I agree with you about the next 3 Who specials. You should try to watch Torchwood & the Sarah Jane Adventures. Both are pretty good.
