i have NONE of the following problems in IE, but firefox is being annoying

wheneveri try to view a full sized image from anywhere (including google images), it only displays the image for a split moment and then just shows the line of html that would display the image

also, when i navigate away form a tab and then come back into said tab, the page refreshes. which would be fine except i watch a lot of youtube videos, so if i ever leave that page and come back, the page refreshes and the video starts over

Nor have I. Check all of your settings and make sure you don't have it set to do those things. If you don't then try uninstalling FF and then reinstalling it.

That happened to me too. Have you checked for an update? Maybe it's one of your plug-ins.

This is how you debug a problem in Firefox. Most likely, it's an add-on issue. First fun Firefox in safe-mode. If the problem persists, then it is a problem with Firefox itself and I recomend reinstalling it. But, if the problem disappears, then it is an add-on issue. Go back to your regular Firefox and disable half of the add-ons. IF the problem stops, then the issue is in those add-ons. Disable half of those and keep going on like that till you find add-on causing problems.

If anyone does run these steps and finds that it is a bug in Firefox itself, you can file a bug here.

I'm not having either of those problems, but I am having an odd problem with pop ups. Randomly when I click on random portions of a random site I'll get a pop up. (and when I mean random, I mean clicking the white area while searching in Google so I can scroll down will trigger it.) There is never anything in the pop up window but an error like it blocked something. It happens on any Firefox I use, including while I'm in Ubuntu and at school.

Did you try to manually install it? There should be a "Manual Install" button when it asks to to install Flash. Try that.

You can find what add-ons you have by opening up Firefox, click "Tools" in the menu bar, and click "Add-ons". It should give you a list of your add-ons and plug-ins. You can then systematically disable them to find the problem.

but an old version of "oldbar" is no longer available for download, and I want it. If I could find it in Windows Explorer I could copy-paste to my windows 7 folder because only my vista drive has it right now, but I would like that version on W7 as well.
