The only people that listen to ska at my school are me and two other guys so its kinda of depressing, all of my friends listen to metal, slipknot disturbed stuff like that.
Why does no one ever mention Sublime in the Ska threads? I know they aren't a fantastic example of the genre, but I think they're pretty good.

thats a good question. it may be because the mainstream stuff theyve got isnt as upbeat as some other ska bands, ive only listened too a couple of their songs so i may be completely off.
I love Sublime, I think they're great, but for some reason I don't consider them ska.Why does no one ever mention Sublime in the Ska threads? I know they aren't a fantastic example of the genre, but I think they're pretty good.

Well, they were pretty diverse musically, but they have a lot of songs that lean heavily towards Ska.
Definitely. I listen to Two-tone, ska-punk, and traditional ska. It's probably my favorite style of music. I'm not really a fan of RBF or Streetlight. They have songs that I like, but there aren't many. I mostly listen to Operation Ivy, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Toasters, Sublime, and a bit of Tokyo Ska Paradise.
i've only heard from streetlight manifesto and i did't like it..which one is the best archetype to listen to? gonna try that.Ska is the genre, some bands are , Streetlight manifesto, reel big fish, less than jake, catch 22, mustard plug just go to pandora and type in one of those bands and you'll get a good variety/

Yup.
Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, Bomb the Music Industry!, Operation Ivy, Rancid, Reel Big Fish, and Sublime are my favs.
its nothing like circus music, what are you talking about?Pirate said it best in another thread.
Ska is glorified circus music.
So no, I do not listen to it. Just like I don't listen to death metal, black metal, gurgling ****.
