Does anyone not care about the Super Bowl, besides me?

Don't get me wrong; I enjoy playing football and being physically active. Hell, I ran eight miles today, like I do every day. But actually watching someone play a sport is unbelieveably boring. As fun as it is to play it, watching it seems like a waste of time. Just sitting there, with no interaction at all. I don't really care about the Super Bowl at all. It's just another football game, but it's more important because it's basically the championship.

But I have to watch the whole game because my parents are making me, just like they made me watch the last boring game last week. I hope I get invited to a party, so I at least don't have to watch the whole damn thing.

So does anyone else feel the same way?

True, but even people who aren't normally sports fans seem to tune in to the Superbowl. At least thats what I've seen with a lot of people that I know.

I think you need to assert yourself, tell them what you want, either that or threaten to rebel. AND if they continue to force you to do "teenage boy" things, tell them your gonna go out and get some chick pregnant, or buy some drugs, or get into a brawl, because these things are all too common among teenage boys.

Yeah, I did... I told them that I didn't have interest in watching a football game, and that everyone has different interests. No one can help what they're interested in, so they shouldn't make me do something that I don't enjoy just because everyone else does. When I told my dad this, he's like, "Are you retarted or something? Football is the most popular game in America. Everyone loves it. Blah, blah, blah," and he goes on and misses my entire point. Also, when I told my parents that I wasn't entirely sure if I believed in God anymore, they basically said, "How dare you question your faith and not blindly follow your Religion. As long as you live under my roof, you will believe what I believe."

I get what you're saying, but my parents would probably still get angry. If I said, "Hey, you want me to be normal, so that's exactly what I'm doing," they would add some dumb rule that makes no sense at all and still manages to get me in trouble for being a "normal teenage boy."

I tried to rebel, but my parents are nuts, so I guess I just have to keep living this lifestyle. In my parents' view, of level of importance:

Amount of friends>Sports>>>>>>>>>School>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Happiness

Meh, they aren't around me all the time, anyway, so that's good, at least. I can act like myself when they aren't there.

Also, I think my parents would want me to drink and do drugs if that means I'll get more friends.

Yeah... Two in the kitchen, one in the family room, two downstairs, one TV for each four kids, except my older sister who has two TVs, and yeah... That's ten. We really don't need that many, though. We only have six people in our family!

Dude, it's not just a game. It's an entire day. Get into it. Wear some foam hands, or a hat, paint your entire body, get a keg or two, bring a couple grills inside to cook up five or six dozen burgers, and have some fun! :)

Here's a fun fact;

A lot of people don't enjoy watching sports.

You know what they do?

They drink and/or put money on the game and then guess what?

They enjoy watching them.
