I don't udnerstand why everyone is talking about this movie. Yeah Frank Miller is making it and he has an interesting art style, but who cares? This movie looks very average and I have no interest in seeing it at all. Funny colors on a movie doesn't make it any better in my opinion.
It just looks like my type of movie and Frank Miller has a solid background so I'm definitely going to see it. I don't care if there is a lot of hype or not because I'm seeing it either way.
to answer you question, ill ask another. have you seen the trailers? the color palette is truly unique(not nearly as random as sin city). the camera angles are also amazing. you can tell that frank miller knows how to make iconic scenes. its a very powerful image to see the soldiers getting pushed off the cliff from a side view with the sun setting in the background. the visual effects are great as well. not to mention it was based off a true story. Yeah, it looks cool, but that's a trialer...you can't judge a movie without seeing all of it.
Where is this movie getting hype? The only time I hear about this movie is when I'm on a Gamespot or another site with a similar audience. People talk about it a lot on here because a lot of people on here who are interested in videogames also like comics, graphic novels, sin city, and frank miller, in addition to movies in general, thus it gets a lot of discussion. I don't see a lot of advertising for this movie on tv, it doesn't have television specials devoted to it, and the news isn't covering its release with stories about the actors or fans waiting to see it. Its a high budget, epic battle movie, a popcorn flick at its finest, of course people are going to talk about it. And the trailer makes it look pretty good, and people are interested to see if Frank Miller can score again after doing the successful Sin City.
There's nothing else to look forward to and its art direction helps with the hype and it obviously falls in Sin City's footsteps in terms of the fanbase it's drawing.

Yeah, it looks cool, but that's a trialer...you can't judge a movie without seeing all of it. i didnt say i was reviewing it or anything. i was saying why i am hyping it. you cant hype a movie that you have already seen, it would defeat the purpose of hyping it.
