The family setting is almost exactly alike, the stupid dad, housewife, wierd kid, fat and ugly daughter, and an animal. I guess you can relate stewie to the goldfish. what are your thoughts?PC_JOE_9

the animation looks completely the same, you can here some of the voices from family guy, im surprised you didnt figure this out yourself.

I do believe they are from different people, Digimon came first as a franchise but Pokemon came first as an anime.

I do believe they are from different people, Digimon came first as a franchise but Pokemon came first as an anime.

Digimon was created as a Tamagotchi toy for boys in 1997 (by the same company that released tamagotchi). Pokemon dates back to 1996 in Japan, but it wasn't introduced to the US until 1998. So technically pokemon existed as a frachise first too.
