Does anyone think the new Dungeons & Dragons film looks good?

It just doesn't have the right tone, to me. Kinda sick of silly movies atm. How about you?

And too much MCU vibes which I'm tired of Hollywood chasing for it.

@davillain: Yep, pretty much exactly what said on the FP months back. Got the "well, actually that's what DnD should be like!" reply.

I haven't played DnD at a desk, but from the vidya games, sure as shit aint like that.

It looks funny and entertaining enough to not warrant immediately disregarding it.

Looks a bit more silly than I would have liked but otherwise I ain’t hating it! Hopefully it has a great story!

There is just too much D.C., Marvel and Star Wars these days when it comes to science fiction. These days Marvel films look like someone used Mario Paint rather than expensive computers. D&D? Yuck.

My girlfriend just showed me the trailer a couple days ago, I had no idea they were making a DnD movie. This one actually looks very promising to me and I think it will boost the popularity of the hobby.

I got to say I hope this movie is so successful, that they make the Dungeons and Dragons ride for realz.

I think Thieves and Gladiator Arenas says it all about Dungeons and Dragons!

@brimmul777: Yup, same. I bought the TV show semi recently. Been seeing episodes I've never seen before.

No.

Looks to be on par with whatever crap hollywood poops out. Take regurgitated movie template, take in regurgitated actors, regurgitate action scenes and put in lame jokes. Same old.

The Chris Pine-led adventure film appears to actually understand and appreciate what an actual session of Dungeons & Dragons tabletop gaming is like. This is fan-service, but it’s fan-service for actual fans and it’s genuinely funny and awesome.
