I don't think they exist. Every time there's video footage of an alien sighting, it's always in poor audio and visual quality, like it's shot from a cell phone. All the time. Every time. It's ridiculous. And these people expect me to believe that? Come on now... Same thing with Big Foot.

Not real, never will be.

There probably are aliens elsewhere in the Universe, but I don't believe that they're visiting our planet or abducting people and probing their unmentionables.

I guess I should have specified about abductions, visitors, or out there in the universe. I forgot about that.

Hmm... OT, You're making me think about it.

There might be other life forms out there. But I'm almost positive we've never been visited before.

Given the scope of the universe, it would be improbable if there was not another world out there somewhere that did not have life forms, even if it is just simple bacterial life forms, that's definitely impressive. Do I believe there is another planet or world with intelligent sentient life forms the same level of those found on Earth? That's asking a lot, could be, the universe is an extremely big place.

Actually, I think the real question is... is there other complex life in our solar system? I'm highly interested in what we'll find in Europa.

I'm open to the idea that they may have visited here before. Why not? Who knows what kind of life out there can travel through space. Just because we haven't found a feasible way to do space travel someone mean some other race didn't. The universe is just too vast to contain just us.

The truth is out there. I completely believe in them. I don't think that they are what we have portrayed them as being, though. I'm betting they're either entirely unlike humans, or exactly like humans. I can imagine aliens walking around on their homeworld, going "hey, Bob. Hey, Steve". They're probably asking the same question right now. Maybe there's an _IronWomanDude_ out there, somewhere, saying the same thing. "I hear they're from a planet called Ee-arth, where they vote for Pedro, and some guy named Chuck Norris is their leader."

I agree. There is an infinite amount of planets in an infinite amount of space. It's statistically impossible for us to be the only form of intelligent life in the universe.

There is almost certainly, statistically speaking, other life in the Universe, but I will not waste my life staring up at the heavens, hoping for contact.

I also don't think aliens are evil, as so many alien movies would lead us to believe. I'm sure they all have their alien movies, too, and they all show us as evil, laser-gun-toting, breath-mask-breathing, father-being monsters. And ours them.

I'm surprised that most of OT believe in aliens. Most of OT doesn't believe in God, and there is no proof to rationalize the belief in God. But there is no proof to rationalize the belief in aliens, either. Based on actual physical evidence, there is just as much proof of the existance of God as there is aliens.

I also believe bigfoot exists. It's not a magnificent stretch of the imagination to believe in bigfoot. He isn't a supernatural magic creature or an alien being, he's just an animal humanity has not formally discovered. Just like every other animal once was.

It matters what kind of aliens we're talkign about. IF we're talkign about life on other planets that is a certainty. If we are talking about creatures that look like us, have arms and legs and hands and everything that is probably a no. This is because our evolutionary history would have to be repeated almost perfectly in order to atain such things. IF we are talking about intelligent life on other planets that is questionable. We first have to discover what lead to our enlarged brains. More than likely it was our more advanced tool use with the freeing of our arms. However dolphins are also very intelligent and they don't have arms for tool use. Granted I do think they use tools every now and then but nowhere near us.

A bold statement! Depends on how you view things. It is possible that something improbable may happen, but it is impossible for the improbable to be probable, since it is by the very nature of being improbable - anything but probable

But what if all life follows the same type of evolutuionary track? Many scientists believe DNA came from outerspace so it's quite possible we all share the same DNA code, though I'm sure different aspects would be turned on and off from what we have here on earth.

Panspermia is a possibility yes but, as Richard Dawkins stated in Stein's movie, it had to begin somewhere. All you're doing is moving the originating point. You're throing one problem away for another. However, we would not share the same DNA. Those scientists you're speaking of believe that the building blocks of life came aboard asteroids from elsewhere as it has been shown that asteroids are almost ripe with organic material. Evolution still had to occur according to environment in which the creatures live.

IF you believe that the universe is infinite, then mathematically it is impossible to refuse the existence of aliens. Even if you don't believe that the the universe is infinite, it's easily large enough that you'd be quite arrogant to believe that aliens do not exist.

What if the building block of life are scattered throughout the universe, some of it eventually landing on habitable planets where it combines to create life. In this scenario, all life would follow the same rules. Though it could (and probably would) follow a different evolutionary path, most life is similar and share many of the same type of parts. If we share the same DNA, I think life on other planets would be very similar to what we have here on Earth, only adapted for the conditions on their planet through natural selection and the evolutionary tendencies of each species (I'm assuming some genes are more stable and less likely to change than others). In many ways, life here on Earth is becoming more and more refined. Evolution acts as if it follows a general path. Though there are definitely different branches in this path, I do sometimes wonder if there is a final destination.

The chance that Earth is the only planet capable to establishing intelligent lifeform in the entire universe is very slim. Therefore I believe 'alien lifeforms' exist in some shape or form

WILL_423
Uh... there is really no way for you to conclude alien life doesn't exist.. simply because they haven't visited earth. The size of space alone leaves plenty of probability that their is some other form of life out there. Not to mention it's even possible life was started on earth by bacteria and other organisms being transported here by comets.
