Im on episode 11 and I have yet to see any story develop. Every episode features a new villain and a new problem. After the villain is defeated, hes never seen again and every episode is the same. Im getting tired of these Pokemon styled episodes.

So topic and when will I see this? Also, would it be a good idea to stop FMA and start FMAB where it begins to follow the manga?

If Im missing something please tell me.

It does have a story, but it's very different from the manga. I'd suggest you watch Brotherhood.

The old FMA series is different from the manga. If you want to watch FMA: B instead then just go ahead and do it now because it's a remake that follows the manga closely.
Ed loses his/leg while AL loses his body while trying to resurrect their mother from the death, which is alchemy`s biggest taboo, Ed manages to attach his brother`s soul onto an armor using his blood then he passes out. Ed gets a chance to see what was on the other side of the door and where he learn subconsciously alot about alchemy (hence why he can do alchemy without a transmutation circle). Al takes him Wenry`s house while he is bleeding to death, thats how he gets an automail for hand and a leg. He then decides to become a State Alchemist since it would the only way he would get enough resources for doing research on how to make a philosopher stone. He promised AL he would bring his body back.
Thats the initial point and from there the story develops.

I was thinking that. At what episode of FMA should I stop to make my transition to FMAB?

I can't remember where Brotherhood brakes off from FMA, but I think it's quite early. I don't know how much of the "real" story you've seen either. If I were you, I'd watch Brotherhood from episode one as it changes quite a few things and is a lot faster paced.

If i remember correctly it branches before the battle against greed, when they infilltrate his hideout which is around ep 20-25 i think.

There is a story, and it is quite good. Just takes a while for it to kick in (Most anime starts with some episodes to get you to know central characters before kicking off the plot, usually works well)

It has a big story, and a very good one at that. FMA Brotherhood has a better one though.

I found the story very boring. FMA Brotherhood is way better.
