okay yesterday was Easter and i turned on all the news stations to see if they would mention Easter, and I got mad because besides Fox no one even mentioned it. CNN was talking about politics and the 2008 election, they overdo that subject so much that i don't even watch them anymore because that election is all they talk about, hopefully the papal visit to the U.S. will give them something else to talk about this april. MSNBC only talked about and praised Obama, it seems to me that that station is definitely biased in his favor.

You're just strange. The news shouldn't care about Easter unless something Easter-themed of importance happened.

And all news stations are biased, Fox among them.

know what makes me mad, for a stupid day such a easter, everyone gets a day off, no matter what religion. But a day like rememberance day gets a little essambly in the school gym, that is a day that actually has some true meaning.

It would be news if, say, Easter wasn't expected, but since it's happened at the same time for the last 2,000 years, I'm not sure how it could be construed as newsworthy.

the History and Discovery channel had a whole thing all day on it, so I think that would be fair enough.

Unless Hilary Clinton goes on a shooting spree wearing a bunny costume, why should the news stations care if its Easter? Its a politics station, not a colored egg hiding station......

I don't watch the news, so I can't really say that it affects me, though I'm fine with a lack of Easter coverage. It's a holiday that not everyone celebrates so its coverage is not essential.

I do celebrate Easter as a proud Christian if that obtains relevance to my previous statements.

BREAKING NEWS: This just in... it's Easter today, and has been since 12:00am!

Linda: OMG HONEY, QUICK!!! ITS EASTER11!11

Bob: Are you serious? Oh no, we are going to be late for church!!1

Kyle: Mom... Dad... we're Jewish...

---

Seriously? Of course they are going to mention it every so often, but not devote the channel to the holiday. We live in a secular nation.

Easter shouldn't be mentioned at all with the far more important issues in the world and country. Why would they take time to talk about a holiday that happens every year that has nothing really to do with country specific history.. When they have things to talk about like a possible recession in our economy whihc could affect the United States or even the world for years to come.

except it's called Christmas. Easter is also a national holiday and has become commercial (unfortunately) as well. so you don't really make a point with your argument.

Whatever its called, it's widely observed including by many atheists. Watch TV Christmas specials, where "family" and "togetherness" are emphasized as being what Christmas is all about. Additionally, as subZero alluded too, Christmas has a huge financial bearing on the national economy. The point certainly stands.

Yes, you're a little strange. The fact that its Easter isn't news, as its something that's expected and will, more often than not, have nothing eventful on that day related to the fact that its Easter. And besides, things like the presidential election came before this year's Easter and have higher priorities.

Easter= a sunday. And it's still celebrated by enough people in the US and Europe to justify not having school/work even if it was on a weekday.

It's not the turning of the new year... it's not the day Christ was born... it's not even a day to remember the people who fought in the wars. It's just Easter so no it doesn't make me mad. Besides... the bunny-filled commercials make up for it. :)

CNN would only care about easter if a bunny shaped plane dropped egg shaped bombs on the pentagon.

wait, as for the it's not the turning of the new year part, who cares about the turning of the new year, why should that be on the news and as for the "it's not the day Christ was born" part, well it's the day he rose from the dead.
