Does this seem like decent improvment for 2 and a half months of weight lifting?

Am 15 about 5'9" 130 pounds and when I first started lifting I could bench press around 85 now I could do 110. Does this seem like decent improvment for 2 and a half months of weight lifting?

110 is pretty good if you only weigh 130.

I do 6, then 4, then 2, and then 2 reps of bench press. I was talking about my X2 reps bench press. I also try to eat 3-5 fruits and vegetables a day (ha ha I know must kids mt age don't do this), I get most of my protein mostly through milk, fish, chicken and nuts. I also drink lots of water and grape juice.

Sounds like you have very little body fat. You should probably be lifting your weight.

Not too bad. You're still kind of young and some people don't make good gains until they are a little older. It also depends on how you eat, what your lifting schedule looks like and what lifts you do. Hopefully you have proper form as well. Having a lifting friend is also another great thing.

If you've never lifted weights before, you should be able to progress at a rate of about 5 pounds per week for the first month to two months, then progress about 2.5 pounds per week. That is what I was doing when I first started, and I weighed 130 pounds just like you, and my 5 rep max was about 85 pounds then.

I started with a program called "Starting Strength"... some other guy in this thread actually mentioned it a few posts up.

But overall, I'd say you're right on schedule. You've made some good gains. Keep it up!!!!!

It's fine improvement. Don't put so much emphasis on how much you can lift unless you are in some sort of sport that requires you to be huge. Muscle endurance is arguably more useful. Do more reps per set.

My little brother is 14 and 5"9. He could bench 105 starting, and worked his way up to 135 in two months.

It's okay for that age. I might start weightlifting with my gf's brother, he did a 150kg raw bench, now that's quite a lot!

improvement is what truly matters. dont worry about how much you can lift unless you're a wrestler or something of that sort.

That's decent enough. If you really want to improve, you could try getting more protein in your diet.

When I was 13, I could barely do 80. By the time I was 16 I could do 150. That had a lot more to do with natural growth than me weight lifting (I would think), but still, not bad.

"Pretty decent. How are you powercleans and squats coming along?" I seriously don't think he should do powercleans yet. Rows and deadlifts would be better until he has experience. Seriously, try SS. Here's the link: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:The_Program I would replace powercleans with rows, though.

If you want to get serious with weight lifting, you have to squat. I do squats 13x a week :|

heard weight lifting could stunt growth at a young age, you should wait till around 17ish to reach near your peak first just in case

I was 15 and i weighed about the exact same weight maybe a tiny bit taller and I was doing about 110 after a month or two of working out. As you grow into yourself and gain weight you'll notice that your bench will go up. I worked out a lot last summer and I was benching about 130-140lbs 5-6 reps and that's after the year break I took.

Benching 110, when you weigh 130? Ya that's not bad. It actually does nto matter how heavy the weights are, only that you do enough reps. You know that feeling you get in your arms when you do your last 2 or 3 reps? How it starts to get harder and you move slower? As long as you make it to that point, it doesn't matter if you bench more or less weight.
