Nope. I've never gotten one on my current system.

My old computer, on the other hand, is a mess.

My computer does not currently have a virus, but I've had one before. I just formatted the system and started clean from there.

Yes but it dosn't really do anything. I've stripped half the components manually. At some point i'll get arround to properly removing it.

No, it's usually very healthy.

edit: why do people format their computer for a virus? you can get rid of anything without formatting :/

Nope. I'm too paranoid about that kind of stuff. Besides, not too many viruses target OS X at the moment anyway.

Yes. This is one thing people don't know about. The huge problem with computer viruses on personal computers arises first and foremost because Windows is such a crappy designed OS. Even if people make a virus for Linux the way the OS is built makes it mostly harmless and easy to avoid.

I tried Linux once, party for that reason, but it was far too different from Windows for me to be able to understand / enjoy it. Also, most software / games can't run on it =(

I have almost completely migrated to Linux. I have an old and small Windows XP partition but I use it exlcuisvely for games because yes, companies support for games on Linux is lousy. Apart from that I have substitued every type of application I used in Windows for a Linux alternative and I'm happy to say that I don't need Windows anymore. I just hope companies start giving support for games on Linux or they make better support with Wine.

Well... if it were detected by a scanner or showing symptoms via system glitches & system failuresit would be due to sloppy programming or a software conflictnot the intent to infiltrate a system or network.

Not knowingly. Last time I had a virus, it was never detected, had to buy a new computer. It cost $40.

Ever since, I've been somewhat paranoid about them.

I run Linux so I don't really worry about viruses. I did run my HDD through a virus scan a little while back just to see if I did have anything, as expected none were found.

I had a stupid autoexec.inf virus on my pc, but according to my antivirus software it's gone. I think I should clean my registry just to make sure.

No, I do not. Kaspersky is pretty damn good, although I have been told that you don't really need all that protection if you know what you're doing. Free anti virus should do the trick as well as browsing safely.

I do hope Linux gains massive support as well. I unfortunately still feel the need to stick with Windows for some programmes.

Just to clarify, you can clean your hard drive of viruses without having to reformat. There isn't always traces left if u don't reformat.

I am tight on security. Beyond realtime scanning with Avast and non-realtime scanning with Malwarebytes, any "iffy" exe is run in Sandboxie first. Also, any external communication is manually vetted by Comodo firewall first.

I picked option 2 because it was the closest one to my real thoughts. NO, i don't have a virus on my machine, and any virus that tries gets squashed. so... yeahh....
