This afternoon I was taking a nap on one of my fatboys, behind the glass in the sun, while listening to some chillout zen music. When I looked around my living room I thought that some of the furniture wasn't quite right, so I decided to move some of my stuff to get everything balanced out. I'm quite a chaotic person, so I want my living room to be as peaceful as possible, because I'm hectic enough myself ;) My boyfriend is quite the romantic/classical type, while I really like minimal and design, so we had to compromise when we started living together 5 years ago. He already had the gold egyptian statues and the grand piano, so I decorated everything with those elements in mind. So my living room is now a mixture of egyptian/classical/natural/minimal and I quite like it :) What does your interior look like? can be any room, does it have a theme? Or are you only happy when you live in a cluttered mess? Do you like classical, design, country or a mixture of styles? here's my living room in it's current state :)

What exactly did you move about? It looks the same since i saw it last. And you should post another pic of that awesome sink of yours and didn't you say a bit ago that you were doing up another room, pics?

I mainly removed a couple of items, I have a new tv dresser, 2 new salon tables, i moved the lamp and I replaced my old bean bags by 2 bronze colored fatboys. I still want to redecorate my bedroom, it's a bit messy right now. I'll probably going to do that next spring. And I have 2 small bedrooms that are a complete trash heap haha.

My room doesn't have a particular theme. I feel like a slave to he corporate machine when I start thinking of such things. I buy things because of their functions, not looks, since no matter what, it's just a futile attempt to define my identity. I like things that are not mass produced, hand made things.

Nothing in my room is hand made, I only got a bed and a computer since I'm not here very often. I'm just telling you guys my thoughts about the matter, but I probably over-dramatized it.

That's an original color scheme, I like that. I think that pink (really really hard pink) and black is a very cool combination.

haha not at all, we both have fulltime jobs (nothing extra ordinarily) and no kids (only a cat) so that helps. But we have build on our interior the last 5 years and we have skipped a couple of holidays.

Everything in my room needs to be blue. My TV stand is blue. My bed sheets are blue. My curtains are blue. My paintings I made when I was in school are blue. My posters need to be mostly blue.

I has no picture though.

That's too bad, I'm curious what it looks like. A friend of mine is also into blue, her whole house is blue and silver, it has a very nice style.

could you tell that to my boyfriend, I'd love to kick those out of the house haha. But he wants to keep them... I'm not into statues, but I'm glad that he likes Egyptian statues and not Roman or Greek statues, because they are way more ugly haha.

My parents just got me a bunch of new sheets and stuff, the sheets are brown, and the blanket has black and brown. They're probably going to paint my room soon too.

My last room had a blue theme, which I don't want anymore.

Well... how about 4 white wall with wallscrolls of Gankutsuou, Evangelion, Nana, Ergo Proxy and Ghost In The Shell?

I live in a small 1 1/2. I need a little more space, but I don't need that much more. A bigger kitchen because I just love to cook and I don't eat in restaurant often. A bigger bathroom and more cabinet space.

That's so cool! I have a small bedroom I'd like to decorate as either: - japanese popculture: with anime wallscrolls, Morning Musume Posters, bright colors and lots of cute characters - japanese retro: kotatsu, tatami etc. Do you have pics of your room?

the challenge with my apartment is two-fold. it's tiny (living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom... that's it) and it has green shag carpeting.

since i'm not about to pull up carpet in a place i'm renting, i had to work with it.

the only solution was muted colours in most places, various wood grains for the furniture (pine, especially), then a simple, complementary fabric on the windows. I like the way it looks, and have grown fond of that ugly, ugly carpet.

if i care to go on Facebook I'll post a photo or two.

Nah, sorry, I am not at my appartment for now. I also bought a real Katana hand forged clay tempered. The best 300$ I spend in a long time.

Ikea is pretty okay in my books, their furniture is inexpensive and looks quite okay most of the time. And if you're bored by it, you can easily throw it out and replace it with other ikea furniture. A friend of mine has her complete home stuffed with ikea furniture, she added some original accessories and colors and it actually looks pretty nice.
