The message is revealing to those who awake, but ignored by those who are still asleep. This man totally agrees with my point of view of United States, without a doubt and resonates with it. One of the reasons I fell in love with the Hunger Games and the message it tries to convey.

Hunger Games was a poorly written series of books that copied from Greek mythology among other things. Sutherland doesn't know what he's talking about....either that or he wants us to think that series of dull movies had actually meaning.

In the first Hunger Games a girl who lives in a totalitarian state is forced to participate in a sort of gladiatorial type game. In the second, OH SNAP she's got to be in a second game. And in the third she participates in a insurgency against said totalitarian state.

How the hell do you confirm an interpretation? Whether or not The Hunger Games is an allegory to anything depends entirely upon how someone interprets the work. Personally I find it better to look at it like something existing solely in its own world because comparisons to the US are trite and boring, and have been done a million times before in better works of art.

I actually only saw the first one, and not really interested in watching any more. I understand his point of view, if he really means it, i have no idea ? On top of it all, that's just his opinion, everyone has the right to have one. I can compare the first film i watched to lots of other things also. No country is perfect.
