Have you ever donated blood? Do you know your blood type?
I think I donated blood once when I was a kid during a school blood drive. I honestly don't remember what blood type I am though. Not a fan of needles, so I haven't donated since then.

They do blood drives at school? I didn't think you were allowed to donate until you were at least 16.
I haven't. I need to start. Pretty sure I'm O+.
I started donating blood every 3 months when I moved to the Netherlands, but I'm O+ which it's quite common, so I switched to donating plasma instead, since less people are willing to do so, and I'll switch between both if asked.

did you hear the one about the three vampires who walk into a bar?
Vampire 1: I'l have some Type O.
Vampire 2: AB for me, thanks.
Vampire 3: i'll just have plasma.
Bartender: That's two bloods and a blood lite.
@indzman: It was great. I'll update my Rome post in a day or two when I'm a little more rested; just got home and I'm half dead, half starving =P
@Allicrombie: That's great XD I was going to say "that joke sucked" but I was afraid you'd miss the pun and take it seriously =P

I'm type O. The most common type.
If I remember correctly type O can be given to anybody. Could be wrong though.
You left out the + or -, and that matters. O+ is RH positive and can only go to + blood groups, but it can go to all of them (i.e. can donate to A+, B+, AB+ and O+). O negative is truly universal because it lacks RH, A and B antibodies so it can go to A+/-, B+/-, etc.
Except in emergencies, hospitals will always match the donor and recipient blood type, so they'll only resort to using O as a universal if they are out of the correct blood type.
As for me, I'm an optimistic individual so I like to be positive. :)
My wife's O neg so Bonfis is always chasing her down in the street with their mobile blood stealing vans.

I have before.
RH+
I believe that's something first found in rhesus monkies (hence the RH) and not your actual blood type. I wonder if I'm RH positive or negative.
I'm pretty sure that's what it says on my donor card. I'll double check.
Nevermind, it's "A RH Pos"
AB + my blood is basically useless incomparison to others. D:
Donated in highschool so I could skip 2 classes.

Yeah, it's the A and + part that matters. Just knowing you're RH + means you could be any of four different blood types.
