Don't remember the name of a movie

It was an old movie, back in the 60s I believe. Black and white movie.There was this guy that had been held captive by some indians but was given a chance to live. They set him free with several indians chasing him and would tryto kill him. They didn't know it but he was a real good runner and he out ran all but one I think and they fought hand to hand and he killed the red skin man and lived on to tell the tale. What was that movie? Don't ask me who was in it or anything, I don't know. No, it wasn't Daniel Boone or Davy Crocket.

It sounds kind of like The Naked Prey, but I don't think that was about Indians.

The incident it was based on did involve Indians, though.

Well I know that's an event that actually happened to famous mountain man John Colter whose story they used loosely to write the aforementioned Naked Prey, but I'm not aware of an actual movie based on his life. Are you sure it was a movie and not a dramatic retelling on some documentary on John Colter?
