Dont you hate it when they ask you if your rich?

Maybe its just me, im considered to be a priveleged young man with a family that supports him entirely during his studies, though Im not full of money that comes entirely from heredity, my family has struggled the past 15 years to be in the economic status were right now.

The thing that annoys me about this is that you can never tellwhich of the both ways the person is asking the question, (of course when dealing with acquaintances or soon to be friends.)...: the serious, or the just messing around type.

Then, any answer you give backis used against you! If you say yes.... "oh EXCUUUUSEEEE MEEEEEE ......how modest"... if you say no... they mock about it anyway... "sure, your not rich, look at your monitor and your PS3 and your fashionable clothes".... it frustrates the hell out of me...

The strange thing is that its normal that poor people keepshouting "Im poor man! I dont have any money" to every person they encounter, though its strange to see a person say "Im so rich man I have a PS3 I have a lot of money I bought 4 games yesterday", (though im not saying the latter is appropiate).... why is saying your poor accepted then?

And lastly, try asking a guy .. "Hey man, are you poor? now that should create an uprise from some... how is it different from asking a stupid queston that you probably know the answer to, and then pick on the person no matter what their answer is.

I have to say this: I hate when people ask if Im rich, since I have a PS3, Wii, Widescreen TV and a hottub and stuff. In no ways am I rich. I bought my PS3 by myself, the Wii and the TV. But it was hard worked money, and after I bought the stuff I was broke, and re-earned everything again. The hot-tub, well, thats just one of the many things my mom has bought herself without needing it, without actually having the money. Pays it off over time.

Yeah at schoool my friends say 'you're family is so rich' all the time. I took them all out to dinner andmymum paid for all their dinners and for weeks all they could saywas ' omg you're so spoilt and rich that your parents can pay for all that' ...I just look at them like this :| You'd think they'd be appreciative but they turn it into a negative. And they always complain about my parents giving me money and not having to work like they do and when I go to uni I won't need a jobtopayforaccommodationetc it's just so annoying.I agree that I usually get whatever I want but they always tell me that....Think they should mind their own business.

I just feel its stupid to ask something you already know the answer for... because being RICH relies on your own sole perception of it....(the one that answers the question)... it doesnt realllymatter what one answers cause its not gonna change the wayhe or she thinks..... everyone has its own perception of being rich...having a lot of money, or maybe buying lots of stuff, spending lots of cash in the weekends..... what I dont understand is why asking someone if he's poor not socially accepted...or widely used... at least where im from and I guess here in the states as well... it makes more sense to ask if a person is poor because maybe he or she is indeed rich but likes to save a lot of money, or hes more the humble plain kind of person, or maybe he's indeed troubled financially...

Incorrect at all senses. And if you read closely people that usually ask you dont really know you, how would they know you dont like it? it is annoying Ill tell you that, but its more stupid ..
