ok, i was watching the historychannel about a doomsday theory on Dec. 21, 2012. apparently on this particular day, the center of the galaxy will be aligned withour sun, earth, and moon at the same time. its like an eclipse that is very rare and only happens every 25,800 years. and the gravity or somethingis supposed to shift the mantle of the earth, which will change the postion of the equator and cause devastating effects like climate change, earthquakes on every continent, floods, storms etc.
the show was able to back up there theory with predictions from oracles in ancient roman times who predicted rulers of the roman empire 200 years before they were born! they also predicted wars between the romans and germanic tribes, and also who would be victorious. their also predicted a dramatic change of the planet on December 21, 2012 or the end of the world.
another group of people predicted doomsday on Decemebr 21, 2012. These people were the Mayans(Ancient South Americans). they had this very accurate calendar that they used to predict things like when the first white skins or British would arrive in South America. and they predicted correctly.(i don't remeber the exact date but it was like March 5, 15??) they also predicted that the end of the world would happen in the 21st century.....Decmeber 21, 2012. link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ash_5a_37-w - this is only a clip of the show i saw on thehistory channel.
So enough of these ancient predictions,...how about some modern predictions of 12/21/12. Scientists in America have used web-bots(originally used to predict stock market trends) to predict global disasters, and it worked. web-bots predicted the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, the Tsunami in the South-East, and earthquakes in Japan. it was also used to predict this so-called doomsday on Dec. 12, 2012. and it has been announced not only by scientists in America, but around the world have calculated that the center of the galaxy, the sun, and the equator of the earth, and the moon, will be aligned. but it is unsure how this rare phenomenon will effect earth.
and i'm guessing that people will be saying "didn't everyone go crazy about Y2K, yet nothing happened?" well what if for the first time this is true? Y2K was about man-made apocalypse like nuclear weapons and computer failures. 12/21/12 involves the alignment of the galaxy, sun, earth and moon.
I usually don't believe in this kind of stuff, and i'm not a hippy or something, but it gives me shivers just thinking that the world might end in 4 years.
what are your thoughts on this theory?
EDIT: i don't expecteveryone to believe this theory, just how some people may ormay not believe in man-made global warming or aliens or 911 conspiracies. so if you don't believe this then that is fine.
