Somone placed one of these little leaflet things offering lawn service..... For like the 200th time! I got sick of this junk being dropped on my property so I took the leaflet and chucked it into the middle of the street. Will the owner of that business get fined if they don't pick thier stuff up?

Fly posting is illegal in most places, just contact your local council if it bothers you. They may fine them then.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll go ahead and follow through with that. I was just checking the various rules and what not for the city and it's got a lawn/trash ordinance in effect, all the more reason to get rid of this stuff.

What's wrong with them dropping off a leaflet. They're just trying to earn a living.

If that's the case, I should get payed for hosting their junk, cause I sure as hell don't want it. In terms of lawn, I cut it or one of my other family does.

I don't care about people leaving stuff on my door knob as I am very close to a trash can. What I do not like is when they leave advertisement's under the windshield wiper on my car. Half the time I don't see its there till I am driving

What exactly is funny about this situation where hundreds of little leaflets are placed on my property? Why shouldn't I be paid? Tommorow I'm gonna check with city council. Until then I've got time to contemplate this situation and it only seems reasonable after what's been discussed to get rid of this junk..... Do you post fliers on people's property ace-of-spades93? If you do, I can understand how you'd be against having to pay for putting your leaflets on other people's doors, railings, windows, front lawn, door mats, etc etc.

What effort does it require on your part to just pick the leaflet up and recycle them? Some poor bloke has to trudge around hundreds of houses posting these things for peanuts and you think that you somehow deserve money for his work? Why don't you report him to the police for trespass and littering on your property while your at it.

Make your own leaflet asking for them to stop putting theirs on your property. Take this leaflet and hang it on the front door of the nearest office for said company.

Actually make tons of them and do it every day. Maybe twice a day even.

Yeah! Well, actually it belongs to the country I guess... Or the city... I'm not familiar with all these land ownership things, but there's still a friggin ordinance that requires people to clean up trash and mow their lawns..... Wonder how many cities promote this...

Just throw them away. Do not think it's illegal. dave123321

These stupid leaflets remind me of a comedians joke which says, "When someone hands you a flyer, it's like they're saying here you throw this away." I'm getting lazy throwing these things away for everyone! >=o

Well you're complaining about them dropping these on the Land that you own. So it's not a community service. You're just another lazy git that expects money for nothing.ace-of-spades93
I was reading that people who hand fliers out can get fined if they don't pick up any that are littering the street. So I posed the question here. I did pick up what I chucked out into the street. As far as I'm concerned this shouldn't even be an issue with you and me. It should be those that tack this junk, intentionally, on/in another persons house.

Edit: I got a nice suggestion earlier about checking with the city council; it's reasonable enough, so I just need to wait till tommorow, considering the time right now. If you wanna continue discussing my actions my actions feel free. Seems like more of a general issue, which was the whole fining of the litterbugs!!! RAWR!

For clarification what is illegal is advertising with a sign or flyer that uses your property . So say I have a restaurant , I cannot post a sign/flyer using your house as a way to advertise to anyone who may be walking by. What is legal is having a leaflet used to advertise the restaurant to the people living at that particular address.

It would depend on the intention and size of the advertisement I suppose. Not too familiar with the exact laws.

You have made me feel physically sick with you're sheer laziness and self-righteous attitude. was interesting, s'what I was quoting and responding to in that regard.

Wow, that's insane... The guy's trying to cook and suddenly food goes flying all over place, because of.... water heater sales man...

I'd totally put one of those up, I think I need to make the one I have bigger or more brightly colored though.
