Ask this question in ten years and find out. Christopher Lee's Dracula is still remembered 40 years after it debuted, will Edward Cullen do that?

Its too soon to say who has a bigger impact on horror/vampire genre. Twilight has only been around for a few years. But I feel safe when I make the assumption that it would still be Christopher Lee. Twilight is a fad that will one day pass.

I'm not well-versed in vampire literature, but hasn't that archetype of the angsty vampire existed beforehand? Such as in "Vampire: The Masquerade" and "Interview With a Vampire?"

Simple. After the death of Bela Lugosi, Lee was the face of vampire films for a good 20 years.
