I remember really liking Reign of Fire back in 2002, that was a cool movie. Otherwise... ?

I've been wondering for a while now how popular dragons are with audiences from around the globe.

Dragon Heart was decent. Sean Connery was the voice of the dragon so it's hard to go wrong.

I still look back fondly on early 80's fantasy flick Dragonslayer. The effects were really not that bad for the time and budget, and it totally felt like a D&D campaign brought to life. Your enjoyment of the movie would probably depend on whether that description fills you with delight or revulsion.

If you have got a lot of patientce, because I don't think they have even started filming yet! The Hobbit movie should be enough to satisfy all you dragon watching needs, and you know with Peter Jackson the cg effects for the dragons are going to be unreal. Until then there actually aren't very many dragon related films, maybe try Eragon the film?

The latest Narnia movie has a dragon in it, though whether or not it would be considered "good" is up for debate by pretty much anyone but me. :P There's also Dragonheart, which everyone has mentioned by now. People saying How to Train Your Dragon really need to reread the topic title. . .

It's not any good but Dragon Wars. Seriously we need a good live dragon movie, something more like Reign of Fire. Maybe a Reign of Fire prequel...?

yep agreed I loved it back then, but saw it some years later and died a little on the inside. Even though it's not live action I agree with the guy who said How to Train Your Dragon. That was an excellent film.

It's supposedly some good books, too. But they're kid's books, so I probably won't read them until I have kids of my own. That aside, the film was great and it teared me up. (let's look past the fact I was watching it at 3 am and I was depressed then)

Edit: It's a great film though, I tend to cry when I watch it, he's the last dragon

That movie is one of the true fantasy movies of motion picture.. Its right up there with Conan The Barbarian of classic fantasy movies.. Make it even more startling, the special effects.. Especially with the dragon, look extremely good even by today's standards..

Same here. The Hobbit was way better then the LOTR books, in my opinion. I just hope they'll do the book justice.

Dragon Wars, crappy south korean movie.... but if you like dragon movies, you already have pretty crappy taste in cinema.

There is one hilarious scene of an old lady trying to walk through a fence though.

i certainly beleive it derserves more internet infamy. Im actually suprised you found it funny... without the pre context of watching a horribly **** movie, i wasnt sure if it would play.
