Are dreams affected by any factors? Some people dream a lot some people don't. Some have good dreams some have nightmare. Is this all random or are their reasons for specific dreams?

I doubt dreams are random. When something really devistating happens, that definetly causes dreams. It seems like dreams have strict rules. Certain real life momments cause dream. If we individually are our own single athourity then how come dreams can't be controlled?

People don't really care or talk about dreams. I find it odd we don't think about dreams more. Life is so realistic and every move has a reaction. While dreams feels like some power-trip.

Well, I had a dream last night Johnny Depps ghost was haunting me and wouldn't let me out of the house. Everytime I tried to leave he'd jump in front of me and say something like "nooo....let's not do that."

The last Johnny Depp movie I saw was Dead Mans Chest years ago, so I have no idea.

Hope I helped.:P

My dreams are in full color and when I remember them they have a huge impact on my day... So I think there is definitely something there.

First off I am a good person, but this dream would suggest otherwise which is why it made me think hard about the scenario that caused it...

First I'll explain scenario: I was 15 years old when my mother started to date and bring home for me to meet an LAPD Officer. I am 21 now so this guy lived with me basically for 5 years every single day. I spent time with him, I looked up to him and did have a really good opinion on the guy. Despite him and what others think of police officers, they are actually really nice people. Any way about 6 months ago he cheated on my mom and just left the house. I am not going to give more on the background of this guy just because it really does disgust me that much that I don't think you deserve to hear it, but lets just say the guy is a mooch. And this is a REAL COP. Jacked like he's on steroids and in shape.

Here's the dream: It was only this... John (we'll call him John) walked into my house and I completely assaulted him. I remember thinking in my dream when my mom opened the door for him: "You're dead." Then all I remember is rushing toward him and then it all goes black.

Does that make me evil? I had to ask my Rabbi/Priest/Guru (you don't need to know which religious figure I see) if that made me evil and he told me. No, the fact that your recognized that thought was evil makes you good. An evil person would not recognize this evil and believe that it is good. An evil person does evil things because he thinks what he is doing is good.

Now, I have regular dreams too, but this is just an intensely real one that I had and will remember for the rest of my life...and now OT knows it lol. I don't mind, I like to share.

benadryl does cause drowsiness. in fact if you to the store, most of the sleep aid medicine has the only active ingredient of 50mg diphenhydramine(Benadryl).

now alot of benadryl, can keep you from sleeping, as its a hallucinogen. i find that if i end up takng more than 3 benadryl(25mg each) cant sleep as i get restless leg syndrome. ive also taken enough to make me hallucinate, and at first i got really tired, but could not fall asleep at all. then started hallucinating and such. not fun.

but i mainly take benadryl as i have bad allergies 24/7. but yea, in small doses 25-50mg it causes drowsiness and can help you fall asleep.

i think since its a hallucinogen, that might have a link to dreams and such.

im not saying you shouldnt use benadryl. just dont abuse it for recreational purposes, unless you are into hallucinogens.

its good for allergies and can cause drowsiness if used correctly. in fact, its the only thing that helps my allergies, ive tried the zertec, allegra and other prescription drugs, none of them worked. benadryl however has worked nicely.

though i dont think there is a set way on how we dream, as i have drank alcohol, passed out and still remembered my dream. then others times when i had passed out, i couldnt remember anything.

Don't know majority of my dreams I always seem to be a dragon in, the same one every time. They sometimes are different, been other animals in different dreams as well though seems in those dreams I either end up being tortured or killed. Every single one. As for dreaming of human those ones tend to vary.

Not sure if dreams have rules or not but have had odder ones like waking up from one dream into another. Having two at the same time, and also had the same dream as my sister did once. Guess some I wouldn't thought were possible. and think between the dreams I'm mostly a dragon in and the waking into other dreams, is kind of screwing me up a bit since I can't really tell the difference between dreams and reality anymore I don't think.

I dreamt the other day that Dracula came into my room and sucked my blood. But then I heard a baby crying and I got really scared. I figured that meant that I'm pregnant or I'm gay

Most of the time dreams are remnants of the daily thoughts. The more you think about something during the day, the more likely it is going to creep into your mind while you sleep.

This is what scares me. I have some really fvcked up dreams. Like where I beat someone to death, or do other disturbing things I don't want to mention. Are these the kind of things I think about?

Well, dreams can also reflect a mood or feeling you carry throughout the day, you might take this feeling to bed, and your subconscious reacts to it in the form of dreams. For example, I worry quite a bit and I fear getting in trouble, so oftentimes in my dreams someone is after me trying to "get me" for something. It's not always supposed to exact mirror your daily thoughts, but they usually give you a ghost image of them. A subtle hint.
