All of this after losing to his young brother and friends in FIFA. And they had to point that he also played GTA: "The Daily Mail article also points out that FIFA losing-streak and that Callaghan "also played the computer game Grand Theft Auto, which sends the player's character on a violent crime spree." Its always like this, some crazy kid kills somoene and GTA is to blame. And videogames in general. GTA had absolutely nothing to do with this. The kid was insane already, and probably it was just a matter of time before this happens, with or without GTA. When will these guys get that GTA has nothing to do with these things. Anything could cause these guys to do this, a game, a movie, even a book. They have problems already. A normal person would never do this. Blaming videogames for everything is getting stupid. They refuse to believe that videogames isnt and never was some kids stuff. Videogames undustry is growing fast, and i can actually say that in a few years, its gonna be the biggest industry in entretainment.
Are they ever going to stop blaming VG's for people doing this stuff, I mean by all intents and purposes I should be in a clock tower with an AK47. My hubby and his buds are real military and they game all the time and they're the most non-violent people I know. More importantly as a parent I say this to other parents; "Stop blaming your bad parenting or more than likely a bad seed on something that can't defend itself!"
i'm going to do something really courageous and when i get interviewed i'm going to tell them gta is the reason i did it.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. GTA is not to blame. The fool who could not control his temper is to blame. As stated above there is not one axe in any GTA game. When incedents like these happen it is the person themselves, if they get influenced to do something this bad because of a video game they mostlikely have some sort of mental problem. I've played tons of mature video games but not once did I go out and kill/hurt anybody because of it.

Because it is the easiest and oldest target. It will be a creative change of pace when someone blames Saints Row or just blaming themselves. At the end of the day he picked up that Axe, GTA was not holding a gun to his head.

They shouldnt even have mentioned GTA at all. period. Why not?Well in a court case alot of times they want every detail and piece of evidence that they can get. So of course once they found out he played GTA they are going to bring it up. But I believe being drunk will eventually overshadow it.
He was playing FIFA right? so shouldn't they blame soccer for his crazy out burst? In fact I'd be willing to bet that more people have died as a result of soccer/football related issues than GTA related issues.
And I don't see anyone trying to ban soccer/football.
