Just as the title states, I was wondering if anyone here uses DSL. I have cable through Comcast and I'm looking to switch to possibly switch to DSL to save a few bucks. I was wondering how lag is with online play (Xbox Live). I mostly play COD 4 so any lag would not be welcome. I was also wondering how the connection is with multiple people using internet, 2-3. I only ask that people answer from experience rather than... I heard that, I think, ect. Thanks!

I've had both. DSL is considerably slower, and you're going to have more lag, but if you really need to save money I guess it's worth it. DSL is slowly being phased out, though, as faster broadband lines are layed in more areas.

I love my DSL, in 2 years it's been down once. I typically get around 50ms ping time, which is pretty good.

Really? It's been my experience that I lag less with DSL. Cable does have a higher DL speed though, although cable is more susceptible to slowing down when a lot of people around you are online.

Well, you have 2 DSL services: Pro and Standard. Stardard for me is 160 KB/s and Pro is 300 KB/s. I think pro only cost $10 more than standard, however, my online play was smooth with pro whereas standard had a few hiccups here and there. I'm not going by CoD 4 as I don't have that game. I'm going by other game experiences. And also, I'm using AT&T yahoo service so I'm only going by my experience with them.....

I have Verizon DSL, 3 PC's in my house, a Wii and PS3 also connected non-stop, and mine's hardly never slows down, it will completely drop some times(mainly because the room that my Modem is in, the person always trips the cord) but it'll go local only somtimes. I was skeptical about going Verizon, because at the time that I got fed up with Comcast always dropping, my Wii started connecting to the Comcast modem.

When I went to Verizon DSL my I had trouble connecting my Wii, if I changed the channel on the modem for my Wii, my PC's wouldn't connect. If I changed the channel for my PC to work, my Wii wouldn't connect. Until, some guy on here told me the channel to get all of my devices working at the same time. And also, I never lag or get dropped from a game when playing online. The slowest internet I've ever experienced was Dail Up.

I have Verizon's, and it works great. I have 3 up and 768 down. And like I said, it's very stable.

I have DSL, I have no lag ever, fast connection, I love it and would never think about switching. It's AT&T in case you were wondering and they are doubling their speeds in less than a year, so look at them.
