The Hotel, largest building, islands and such are gonna b awesome (which the hotel alrdy is :P).
It really upset me to see them doing all these useless project, because I know in 50 years, when all the oil $$$ will dissapear, they will come cry to us to help them because they will have nothing left. I know they want to make Dubai a city for tourist, but nobody (with money) want to go there, since the muslim law are so restrictive and stupid.Franko_3
you've got a point about the laws though from what i've heard it's the vegas of the east and gets loads of rich people going there

You can buy alcohol, I know that much.

look at that: Franko_3Ok so Rosie O'Donell and Ellen DeGeneres can't go to Dubai. Thats more incentive for me.

That's hot. They're also not as restrictive as other countries in West Asia. To their defense, there was no stoning involved.

Are you kidding? I spent a week in Dubai, it's one of the nicest places I've ever been to. It already is a city for tourism. And the laws are not that bad at all.
Pretty much every car you see at the malls is around $80K or more. It's ridiculous.

1. Oil forms like 2-5% of dubai's economy.
2. It's not useless since dubai is getting tons of money out of it.
man i wanna go to ski dubai so badly. it looks sick. plus you can basically ski wearing jeans and a hoodie since they only keep it about about 32 degrees and you dont have any windchillFUBAR24
you can do that in all of the indoor ski slopes, we have a bunch in England but the problem is that if you6 fall over in your jeans and hoody you'll be soaked all day

yeah as of right now there are no indoor ski slopes here in the states but they are building some in New Jersey, North Carolina and Las Vegas but those wont be open for a few more years. i hear they have one in japan thats pretty sick though. and when i go snowboarding i need to be confertable so hoodies and jeans work for me. and yeah your right by the end of the day im usually soaked but its the wind on the outdoor slopes that really chills me. so take away the wind and im a happy boarder lol

We can't do that, over 1/5 of Buggati Veyrons, possibly the greatest cars ever made, are in Dubai.
but its such an ugly car.i mean yeah its a technical marvel but it has a face only a mother could love.

you actually believe they are not profitting by all the investments theyve put into dubai? you think theyre just spending money instead of making money? yeah ok....

Yes, they will depend on tourism, not oil money. And with attractions like those, the theme parks, the ski slopes, and the amazing hotels/resorts, I don't think they'll have any trouble finding money.[QUOTE="DeeJayInphinity"]
In addition to that, they're building a "green city" in Abu Dhabi that will not depend on any oil.DrSponge
They're also building a Louvre there, as well as some other stuff :D
Oh my Gosh. This City is like Epic city. Jeez they're just cramming everything. incredible.[QUOTE="Franko_3"]It really upset me to see them doing all these useless project, because I know in 50 years, when all the oil $$$ will dissapear, they will come cry to us to help them because they will have nothing left. So? Stop beyatchin about other countries laws. We expect people to follow our laws when they're in our country right? So why should we be excluded from following their laws when we're in theirs?[QUOTE="markop2003"][QUOTE="Franko_3"]It really upset me to see them doing all these useless project, because I know in 50 years, when all the oil $$$ will dissapear, they will come cry to us to help them because they will have nothing left.
