Dubstep: Good or bad?

So dubstep seems to be the most popular genre of music amongst the hip kids nowadays. What are your opinions are the genre? I enjoy some of it. A lot of it is terrible though.

Some of it is good, a lot of it is bad.

Its around the percentages of 1% good 99% ungodly terrible. I happen to like this one..

I like it well. It seems to be pretty diverse or at least a lot of the stuff I've watched on youtube is even though dub-step is generally very bass heavy.

It isn't the most meaningful or best genre out there in my opinion but I still think it's enjoyable. I say good.

Like all genres in music, most is horrible, and some of it is excellent.

I like the Pendulum set me on fire song.

Needs a decent rig to get the most out of it. Not really my bag these days unless I was off my ****. Sayng that the dubstep influenced new wave strain with the likes of James Blake is probably a little more lounge friendly. Still not really my cup of bollocks

Burial's album "Untrue?" lol, nope. That isn't dubstep. Neither is Clubroot. Neither is Darkstar's "North" album.

It's terrible, everytime someone provides an example; it all sounds the same.

The only dub step I listen to is Datsik and MIND ELIXIR.

I think it's horrid, but if people enjoy it then let them.

Wether dubstep is good or bad is pureley objective. Good dubstep is good, bad is bad. Personally I like it. I know if it's really good if it gives me a 'squishy face'. lol

good on occasion, but bad on others.

Skrillex and Deadmau5 have some really good dubstep songs (or one song in the case of Deadmau5, but whatever).

I like them mostly because they have something behind it besides the typical dustep sounds.

I don't know what Dubstep is. Is it that techno-ish music they are always playing at clubs?

It's just a phase in the music industry just like 3d is a phase in the movie industry hopefully.

I like it. I prefer DnB to Dub, but I can listen and enjoy it.

This is dubstep. Also it has good artists and bad artists much like every subgenre of electronic music.

As i have stated before in many a thread similar to this, I like dubstep, but I hate all the annoying kids that talk about how much they love it. and when you ask them who are theyre fave artists they are always borgore, mt.eden dubstep (terrible), Rusko, and Skrillex. you ask them for anyone else and they cant name. because they are simply follwoing the trend

It's got a good time and place, and that is at the rave in one of our local bars. It's fun music to dance or have a drink to and that's how I prefer it. I don't personally prefer listening to it at all times, but it's certainly not as bad as just about everything on the radio today.

Haha so much hate on Dubstep. Agreed, alot of it isn't very good, but thats because most of it is from bedroom DJ's who think "i can do that". Unfortunately, that sells, and the majority of people who hear dubstep, hear that, and think it's all like that.

Luckily, it isn't.

Personally, i've been producing for around 5 years now, and recently started to make a bit of dubstep because i needed a change from DnB.
